What I ❤ about this father and son team is the sincere interest and appreciation for these cars. It's not a 'will it run and drive 1000 miles home' instead It's about getting the car back to their yard, then off the trailer for a thorough going over. Methodically and with attention to the details so that by the conclusion of the vlog/story we see what they saw when they first laid eyes on it. What a classic duo.🎉 Much love and respect for them from a man whom loves all classic motor vehicles and enjoys remembering how they were then and in this case something like 50 years on after decades of neglect seeing what can be with attention to the details here and now, look at this classic today.❤😃🎉

I gotta say that thing cleaned up way nicer than I thought it would, that Scotch brite pad did an excellent job of cleaning that surface rust off that one side, normally those vinyl roofs do nothing more than rot the steel underneath them. Great job getting that one back up and running

I bought a white sedan like that in the 90s for $150 ! It was a former state patrol car with a 440. It had 2 ends of an extension cord coming out the dash you had to plug together to give the ignition power before you turned the key. It also didnt have any carpet and the floors got hot ! I sold it to a friend who had it over heat on them because the thermostat stuck shut so we took a bolt and jammed the thermostat open to get it home where the tools were at. Fun times as a teenager ! Those Dodge Monaco's were such nice cars. My neighbor bought a brand new Dodge Monaco station wagon in 1974 and I remember it being such a nice quiet car and nice ride - I was in elementary school then and the mom was part of the car pool - so I was in that car frequently. I remember is being so nice and had a great new car smell - those Chrysler products had a certain new car smell for the time and I still have a smell memory that takes me back to the 70's - yes that was a great decade.

Cool thing I've always liked about the 74 Monacos is the front end, the "face," is nearly the same front-end-face as the 73 Buick LeSabre. Yes, I know--Mopar and GM, but I like all the big boats from all Big Three. Far as I'm watching right now, not even under the hood yet--that soap-up, pressure blast, Scotch-Brite really made her pretty. Love the tunes during the wash-up: Can't go wrong with 11-barre Delta Blues!

Wonderful save!! Fellow Formal C-Body Mopar owner here, and that old gal is pristine!! Touch up the blue in some spots, and finish other items like the top, interior, emblems, etc, and she'll be a gorgeous Monaco Custom!! I own a 77 Royal Monaco sedan, not the hardtop like yours, and I must say these Formal years are something special for the C-Body. 74-77 were the production years, and the Monaco Custom came before the transition to Royal Monaco in 75. Fantastic cars to drive and they're pretty reliable. Only thing these cars have against them is that you can't get replacement parts through AMD and Classic Industries, so thankfully yours doesn't need a complete restoration (I had to give mine a resto). I'm in the process of getting some 74 Monaco parts from OK to replace what little 74 Fury parts I have left to swap on my front clip, then mine will have the correct year and model appearance for the movie. I will upload some vids in the near future to make a collage of the many months of progress I made on my car to bring her to the "completed" stage aside from some minor door and interior work as well as the mighty 500hp 440 swap I have planned for this car to replace the original and very tired and sad 360. Looking forward to seeing future episodes with your 74 Monnie!!!
