@@mightyeagle51 A "Christian message" doesn't automatically make a good movie. In fact chances are, most of the time, those messages tend to lean towards being dogmatic and hamfisted in execution to where it's pandering to a specific target audience of what they want to hear (hence the phrase, "preaching to the choir"). That's why movies like God's Not Dead, Do you Believe?, and War Room don't work (and also because of other elements like trite humor, bad writing, and scatterbrain storytelling). Now, that's not to say that there can't be good religious movies, in fact I want to see some decently made ones. If you want some good examples of movies that work within the context of centering around religious aspects, look at The Prince of Egypt (1998) and Silence (2016). Both know how to work as individual pieces of cinematic art and well crafted storytelling that aren't afraid to push boundries. So telling me that a movie works simply because of it's message doesn't cut it for me. That's like telling me that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a masterpiece because of the political and social commentaries spread throughout the movie (which by the way I absolutely hated). So I hope that this little essay gives you some understanding as to why I don't agree with your statement.

I didn't see the movie all the way through, but its good after watching clips. I'm not even a Christian but watching Touched by an Angel almost everyday has made me my own Christian and still support those who are judge by those who abused the bible. There are some children that grew up without fathers and not end up on the wrong road. But the main character is right that fathers need to be there for their children even if they're not married to the mother or not, and mothers sacrifice alot so they won't stray and make the same mistakes, which every fatherless child fears they would make the same mistake. The ones that didn't stray were lucky because there were father figures in the form of grandfathers, uncles, godfathers, mentors, teachers, neighbors, and the fathers of your friends. To those who ended up on the wrong road its hard to get off but you should know that one father will not leave you is God even if you believe in his existence or not. God is a judge who loves his children for who they are and who they are with. He can help if you let him in. Let God be your father and your friend, let God heal your anger, and let God change your heart 👨👧👦🙏🕊️

This message must be promulgated to all churches, homes, schools, places of public gatherings and all social media/networks to reach the ears and hearts of men and women to accept and appreciate the God-given roles of fathers to their families. Fathers are needed in the lives of children and families. Moreover, the idea of fathering others who are without a father in their lives is also critical. This godly love is not limited to next of kin but is enough to share for others to experience God's love through the family.

This is from a friend who sale this movie, i feel inadequate my wife is the bread winner of the house and I stay home and keep it clean. I feel inadequate because as my wife brings home the paycheck I'm at home with my kids and every day I hear the whispers behind my back calling me a deadbeat a bad influence of what a father and man should be. It's hard because I try to teach my children to lead godly life yet I feel like I am a hypocrite in this. I support my wife in her pursuits but at times I feel like I hold her back. Seeing this movie which opted me to keep trying also shows that I am not what a father should be in their perspective. I ask you am I truly being a true father in gods eyes if I'm the stay at home father? My best friend who is a house husband/stay at home father.
@ncd71843 жыл бұрын
What do you think your heavenly Father would say? If you and your wife are in agreement with the arrangement and you've prayed together asking Him to guide you in it and you have peace it makes no difference what others think. Only His opinion matters. That doesn't mean you don't pursue your God-given purpose while you are doing it. That could be a part-time job, ministry, etc. It's not a weakness, it's actually a strength. If you are able to walk in that despite the judgement of others and have His peace in the midst who do you think is farther along in their Christian walk? Them or you?

Whenever seeing this scene, I stand and say, "I WILL!!!" The last 35+ years of my life, ever since joining the staff of Youth for Christ/USA in 1985, that's been my calling!!! It's good to be challenged again!!!

This could be my father. Raised by a mother who worked hard to provide him & his sisters with Godly men when their fahter(my grandfather) wasn't what they needed. In turn my father treid to be there for other young people who needed a mentor & also as a teacher his students could look up to and come to for help & advice.

Personally, I love this movie. It speaks so much to not only me, but many many more. This scene always gets to me, even gives me goosebumps. I feel every father should see this movie, it shows true meaning. This speech is everything that a father needs to hear, this is one of the greatest speeches I've heard.

That part will always bring tears up my eyes. This movie has motivated me to sign the Resolution and become a godly father. (I also recommend a book. The resolution for men)

I have the Resolution for women. Also the movie War Room addressed the woman's role and how to be a prayer warrior for your family.

Exactly cuz they need to realize how serious and crucial they’re role as a father is and how there is more to being a father than providing for they’re families and giving orders

As the family goes, so goes the nation, and so goes the whole world in which we live in (John paul II) this is one of the best speeches ever in regards to the role of a father and the character of a Godly man every teacher and every father should use this speech to teach young males about the role that is expected from them when they grow up one thing is to be a man, another to be a Godly gentleman...
