It should be noted that there's a large difference between being bipedal and just being a human looking mascot. Look at Charizard. It's a bipedal, but it fits the dragon design. In the case of Typhlosion, it also remains animal-like with a bear-like body.

I can't stop thinking that in some way the personality of the starters is associated with deadly sins. Sprigatito according to its own description is jealous and emits fragrances that "mesmerize" anyone around it (Lust, envy). Fuecoco does things at its own pace and eats any food it finds (Sloth, Gluttony). And Quaxly worries about its appearance and whether it's finally based on a pirate, sailor or knight who desired wealth and recognition (Pride and Greed). I ramble too much I know

If Fuecoco is really based around a ghost pepper through its whole evolution, it would be an interesting concept to have sort of a flame body ability that also can apply to not just being hit with a physical move, but also when they make contact with a physical move ( idk if anyones gotten a Chili pepper burn on your skin but they are like really irritating sunburns). Doesn’t work with the khu gif though and would be pretty OP depending on the move set.

I personally think Fuecoco will be based on Saint George’s Dragon. In the myth, the knight Saint George (or Jorge in Spain) fights a deadly serpent. The beast breathes a poisonous gas, and due to its hunger, it makes a village feed it sacrifices. I felt this fit because Fuecoco it’s fire type like a dragon, reptilian, and a food related design. Also it’s described as “snakelike” which would connect it to the zodiac

That causes a whole bunch of other problems though, because the only types that beat fairy are poison/steel, so they would have to make the trio dragon, fairy, steel. This doesn’t really make sense for the starter Pokémon‘s typings.

i think i have an idea for quaxly’s evolution, what if his final evolution is a flamigo-pirate that has a rapier (sword). first flamingoes kinda look really cocky and smug and the legs that ttar describes could be like pheromosa’s legs skinny but strong. quaxly’s hair could then form into like a fancy pirate hat and looks almost royal like/neat looking. then the sword/rapier he uses could be the feathers or made from water. idk just a thought

Like I’ve been saying from the beginning you can look at sprigatito and tell that it’s feminine. We already have a masculine cat why would gamefreak do that again? Sprigatito is going to be the feminine one out of the starters and be the primarina of Gen. 9, which by the way I’m excited for because we haven’t had a feminine grass starter in forever! I’m still praying that it ends up being grass/ fairy because I’d prefer that over grass dark.

i think the grass starter hidden ability will either be flower veil, making it immune to stat drops and status effects (with aren't self inflicted) or a terrain/ weather setter.

Not a bad guess but it’s hidden ability is supposed to be op. The most op abilities that come to mind aside from those are libero/protean/moxie/multiscale/anger point/speed boost/stamina/wonder guard. IMO, especially with grass/dark being the worse typing in the game (as if grass types need a nerf or something - geezus) it’d have to really buff sprigatito, which IMO would be libero/protean/moxie/multiscale. I’d say wonder guard but with THAT many weaknesses it’s laughable.

sprigatito's final evo possibly being a grass/dark and bipedal just makes me believe even more that it will be Zorro inspired (even tho thievul already does that) also, cyndaquil is called the fire mouse pokemon, which is why people put him on the rat zodiac, and a rooster is just a male chicken, so blaziken fits fine. The only one that doesn't really fit is fennekin, but foxes are related to dogs so I guess? Either way I think its a fun theory, and if fuecoco ends up a snake I will believe it ahah

I mean, if you ever design pokémon then you notice that sometimes you design the pre-evo first, other times the third. For example, charmander is not exactly a dragon either, it's just a fun theory that has a lot of "coincidences"

My favourite Fuecoco evo design is the Fire/Fairy one that was "leaked". I really love the cute/dopey design. I hate that they always make fire starters have to be intimidating so something different would be a nice change. Plus Fire/Fairy typing would be cool. But I think the Fire/Ghost typing will be most likely and the face will be the main feature having it end up being a Dia de los Muertos skull design which would fit with the ghost typing.

I think for the starters it could be like: Fuecoco- go a bit snake like but like a long chili pepper. With a snout like a gharial (an endangered species of the croc family) as there heads can look long and bony looking. Sprigarito- may be a sort of iberian lynx but with a puss in boots twist. Maybe with a good abilility to camouflage in nature similar to kecleon. Quaxley- May be like a gannet or a boobie, as they have blue feet and can be found all over the coast. But that’s what I think but this is a hard generartion to pick a starter. In SW/ SH I wanted Sobble as soon as it was reveled but now I love all the starters. Why do I think all starters might be like gen 3 in terms of fan love again.

I think Fuecoco's final evo's main pose will resemble the pose crocodiles take when floating in the water (the top of their head piercing the surface with it's body just dangling underwater) but it'll be a ghost floating in the air.

I think these starters and these games have the potential to be the one of the best Pokémon games we have had in a long time. I’ve been playing since gold and silver came out a LONG time ago and aside from gen 3, this is looking to be my next favorite set of games.

🍀 Sprigatito - Quadrupedal Lynx with rosette like spots on its body, and the centers of the rosettes open into flowers when using an attack, leaf sprigs that trail off the top of the ears, short muzzle but big fangs. 🔥 Fuecoco - Big chunky friendly piñata croc, the white face part looks like a skull and ox like horns grow from the skull part. Betting on silhouette 2 since y'know, it's the most reasonable Evo shape for Fuecoco. 💦 Quaxly - Either a pirate captain or naval officer theme. Expanding on pirate theme, the hair becomes more sailor hat like, then turns into a pirate hat fully with a feather coming out of it. The final Evo is big chested, and has beard like feathers going up its neck, maybe has a cape or sleeves and markings on its tail and cape that resemble naval insignia. It has one long, extended pointer finger feather that it uses like a sword.

I like all these concepts of it being puss in boots that's really cute and the fan concepts are cool, I think fuecoco is going to be a ghost pepper (hence the hints and speculation of ghost type) maybe based on quetzacoatl or something similar from spanish culture yall... I just realized the theme. They're based on "animal characters" from fairy tales. Puss In Boots The Ugly Duckling (and probably also a pirate) not sure on Fuecoco though I could see the quetzacoatl and I could also see it sticking with the pirate thing somehow due to puss in boots being a "swashbuckler" and the region's theme being travel (specifically probably time travel but none-the-less)

For Sprigatito, she is very envious of others and so she takes a _dark_ turn, like you see plenty of jealous people do. (Yandere, etc etc) Thus, the dark type. I won't be surprised if Sprigatito learns Thief or even Covet either close to its first evolution or soon after, maybe upon leveling up. and then... surprise, surprise! You check its stats and it's Grass/Dark. And I mean come on. That leaf birthmark on its face is definitely becoming a dark mask. Moving on tho. For Quaxly, finally, I think this one fits just as perfectly as the other two. Having pride and wrath, it will fight/unleash its wrath on those who challenge its beliefs in a disrespectful manner. And it likes to be clean and tidy and won't accept its hat getting dirty. So it will retaliate against anyone who dares to touch it, or make fun of it for this. Thus, the fighting type! Let me remind you also that revenge is a fighting type attack. It will probably learn the move early on in its 2nd stage or around the middle like Lv23~34ish. And it usually kicks to attack. You can imagine it holding its hat with its hands and kicking away foes to prevent them from touching it. It's also a common move for people who are _actually_ trained in certain martial arts, to kick away an assaulter with the bottom of your foot, as no more than a warning. And it usually works. (I've seen it firsthand irl and have experience with it) It's mostly meant to smite away someone who isn't really worth a real fight, with not too much force. Hence why I called it a warning. It fits Quaxly really well I think due to its personality and characteristics. [[[Because you encounter people like this all the time who will try to get in your face and invade your personal space, even having the audacity to try and make physical contact, whether you intentionally said/did anything to upset them or not. You see it often when a person sees someone recording and their karen switch gets set off, causing them to be on camera more than if they just minded their own business or left the scene, and they even try to rip the camera out of the person's hands or they themselves start recording. Which could very well mean it _stands_ the way a cat or lion does, while still being on all fours. Like it sits up, but you can still basically call it standing. Since most felines don't stand the way us humans do. It takes on a different meaning for quadripedal animals. And because he said it like that, I'm actually convinced it's not bipedal, and simply stands in combat

Springgtito will become a Spanish Dancer, possibly Grass/Fairy or Grass/Psychic. Fuecoco will become a chili based pokemon and be Fire or Fire/Steel. Quacklsy will be based on a Matador and will be Water/Fighting or Water/Ghost

if the past theme ends up being a thing there were prehistoric crocodilians that went on all fours like a dog, and modern corcodiles also walk on all fours, just not long legged, but look up kaprosuchus. I think it would be pretty sick if this bigger fir crocodile ran towards you and looked similar to that. Not from spain, but super cool. I think spriggy is going to stay on all fours and will be based off the iberian lynx (Spanish). and quax might based of don quixote (Spanish also) and might evolve into some knight like pokemon. would be pretty sick and has potential for being silly. Edit: to add to the don quixote theme, it says the quax is a serious manner pokemon, and well while don quixote is silly, he himself thinks he is serious! He wants to be a knight and help people, and he truly believes his actions are helping people, even if he is just misunderstanding situations. Such as thinking of windmills as attacking giants, or a time where there were 2 friars walking near a woman they had no realtion to, but when Quixote saw this he thought they were kindnapping them and he attacked the innocent friars. I think there is strong potential for quax to become a knight because of this, but I dont think he will gain a horse. If he doesnt go with the quixote theme I hope we get a horse pokemon that does, since quixotes horse was considered his partner in crime lol you cant have quixote without his trusty steed

Ok roll with me on this. Based on the leaks, I think I found a pattern. The scarlet and violet starter evolutions will mimic a starter from a previous generation, but it will be a starter it would be weak to. For example, Sprigatito is a grass type. It is rumored to be bipedal and look feminine. This is like the Fennekin line also Sprigatito is weak to Fennekin. Fuecoco is a crocodile and rumored to be bulky. This is similar to the Totodile line. Fuecoco is weak to Totodile. Finally there is Quaxly. Not much is know about his final evolution, but if my theory is correct it would be somewhat similar to the Rowlit line. Quaxly is weak to Rowlit and they are both birds.

I can't remember where I saw this video but someone analyzed Fuecoco's Japanese name and came to the conclusion he is based on both a chili pepper and an Italy ghost croc. While its a missed opportunity for a fire/grass type, they wouldnt do that to a starter, I do think a fire/ghost would be dope.
