@@NumskullGames well thank god Beat Em Ups aren't JRPGs; easy to knock a couple out (no oun intended) quickly. It was simple to day one The Takeover and Streets Of Rage 4 when they dropped around the same time.

For me, it’s a definite buy. The ost is 🔥 and the sprite work reminds me of the good old days of the SNK arcade machines.

Shredder's Revenge sorta reminds me of River City Girls. It looks and sounds amazing yet unfortunately lacks the fantastic fundamentals that make SoR4 such a standout amongst all of them. And once you're past the halfway point everything sorta starts to blur together.

Spot on review! With a little bit more polish this will be a great game but for now it's the 90s rave/HipHop OST that really stands out. It couldn't be more 90s if it tried lol. Top quality tracks that will give you goosebumps of nostalgia. Just wonderful

I hope it sells good. When I saw it released a day after Turtles I was like oh boy. I just started playing it today. NO CONTINUES, so you better hone your skills. We need more beat um up games so buy this and give it hell

That's how I feel as well. I like laid back beat em ups without the added stress of knowing I may have to start over. Maybe there will be some sort of workaround eventually for the lack of extra lives.

Waiting for my collector's edition of this game to be delivered, looks a lot of fun. I also have Shredder's Revenge on pre-order as the physical version isn't out till July 29th, gives me plenty of time to master Final Vendetta...

If you love Final Fight this is the next best thing,Solid 8 out of 10 for me,the music is the best I've heard in any game of this type by a mile,not a km because it's set in England.

This looks to be a lot of fun but the high difficulty and limits on extra lives in particular has me concerned. I like to veg out when I play beat ups and just enjoy the gameplay without the added stress of a challenge. I wonder if there will be any extra life cheat codes for this game? I hope so!

Yeah it's like the devs knew the game was too short, so they just went nuts with everything. It's annoying if your just a casual player. It would be different if you die and your able to start back on the level you left on. Nope, you have to start over from stage 1. That's an outdated mindset. We're not playing this game on an arcade machine. We're playing it on consoles.

@@tvgamerstan6180 agreed. It’s really a shame. I would be fine with a short beat ‘em up as long as it’s fun to play. My favorite beat ‘em up of all time is die hard arcade and that was very short but because it was such a blast I replayed it dozens of times easy.

This looks good but I definitely feel it could use a few more frames of animation. Some of the weapon swings look really bad. I will pick it up on sale though.

I like retro Final Fight/SoR clones, but to my eye, this looks a little on the amateurish side, and it's currently going for £34.99 on Amazon... that's almost double the price I paid for TMNT, so I think I'll have to pass.

No continues? Jesus Christ! I'm not a kid anymore, I don't have time for merciless games. I've got shit to do. This is like how Ninja Saviours didn't have a save function. I get that it's retro, but can't we have a classic mode, and a modern mode, for people who can only play in brief doses?

A game can be as hard as balls if it wants to be but having no continues crosses the line between hard difficulty and simple lack of quality. Not good.

This is not an RPG mate. You don’t need a save function. If you’re an adult and you’ve got 35-45 min to spare, you can complete either of these games in one go. That’s not a lot of time

I deleted the game. I hate the decisions the devs made. The enemies are too OP, the character's hits are too slow, you don't get a lot of health stocks, and than to top it all off you have to restart from stage 1 if you die. We're not in the 80s anymore. What idiot thought that was a good idea ? It's like the devs knew the game was too short, so they wanted to troll players. This game won't appeal to casual players, but it will appeal to pro beat em up players. I had fun with tmnt shredder's revenge though. I just don't have the energy to keep playing this game. Having to replay the same stages over and over until I reach the end doesn't sound fun to me.

Agree mate, inexcusable in 2022 that devs think cheap hits, unbalanced difficulty spikes and not enough continues are good ways to make a game challenging or fun. It's a shame because ther's a good brawler in there somewhere but even brawlers from the 90s knew these were bad design decisions (or at least the good ones did)!

Even the hardest beat 'em ups from the 80s and 90s had some continues. Streets of Rage 2 is not a particularly challenging game, and it only lasts around 45 minutes, but that doesn't matter because it's so damn good that everybody played it over and over to get their money's worth. It definitely feels like they were scared of releasing a 45 minute game so they resorted to the old cheap tricks.

@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN Yeah SOR2 wasn't the hardest or even the deepest but it was incredibly balanced and polished and therefore the most fun, which is the most important thing at the end of the day. Some of these modern brawlers seem overly concerned with presenting a difficult challenge resorting to cheap tricks or overly complicated gameplay, missing the point about what made the classics so much fun in the first place.

Beat'em ups are not for me. Very rarely does one interest me and that exception has arrived but its not this title. The game in question is Shredder's Revenge and I have already put over 12 hours into it. You said it right, a tough week because the competition is EXTREMELY high.

Streets of rage 4 has many flaws which I don't see evet getting fixed or stuff added but overall way better then this game which I will pass on.

This game is still a good game but it looks like a normal good 16-Bit Beat 'Em Up Game. If the programmers will release an expansion to this game it can be a good match against good new release beat em ups like Teenage mutant ninja turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Jitsu Squad and Sifu. The game lacks good moves, specials and a good music. This is what the programmers add to the expansion with new clothing for characters, more stages, weapons in the game to be picked up and unlockables. Jitsu Squad and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were all advertised well and has better graphics and animation. Final Vendetta programmers should take me simple advice.
