You guys should really do more to market this show. Honestly, I only bump into youtube clips now and then. I actually don't know why you don't just upload the full thing a couple of days later. I am about to watch 51 minutes of The Breakdown now, even though I know I am not really going to like it. It is just Jeff Wilson and John Kirwin comparing penis sizes, while Mils Muliaina just remains limp in the middle. But it is the only other thing out there for Southern Hemisphere fans. I would much rather be watching a full episode of Final Whistle. I even look for this show on Catch Up and never seem to find it.

Nick is saying the trick is not to be flat footed and that being in motion gives you a greater chance of being able to jump and get the ball. Nick is putting it in the most simple way, Koroibete was flat footed for a long time that’s why he didn’t have momentum to even get the ball before Moodie, great analysis from everyone btw.
@exb2542 жыл бұрын
Koroibete also doesn't have the physique to jump that high like Moodie. Moodie has that lanky Israel Folau physique perfect for dominating in the air. Koroibete is great at smashing people, but not under the high ball. 👍up to the coaching team.

You also have to give credit to Hendrikse for a pinpoint kick. I thought that Koroibete was set quite flat in defence and the kick came down practically on top of him, which put Moodie in an advantageous position.

Nick only one that said anything that made any sense in this instance. Players falling back that compete in the air will inevitably just knock the ball further back providing even more opportunity for the attacking team.

@W0lskaap2 жыл бұрын
I think Swys and them were just brainstorming an idea, if you have Koirobete back away from where the ball comes down and the retreating defender contests and knocks it back he will be waiting for the ball, or if Moodie catches it he will be waiting for him. Nick shut it down because his first impression is it's too risky and yes, it would be a nightmare to coach, because how and when do you call for the retreaters to go for the contest and when for the advancing defender? Like Nick said, there is a tried and tested way for the defending team to catch the ball and Koirobete got it wrong.

Hey on Nick, What is the biggest sport in Australia? They definitely know how to catch a high ball. But Islanders don’t/ have never played Footy Aus 11 was limping earlier and they put the bom in him. It worked brilliantly
@canadiancontent3522 жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed the limp, probably influenced his positioning
@pieter53552 жыл бұрын
That was all to do with the kick, it landed 3 meters from where Koroibete was when the kick was made, so he was never in a position to gain momentum to get some air. He was between a rock and a hard place. The lesson I believe is not to box kick into open space where 2 players go in full speed and risk a yellow card.. rather kick down the defenders throat so he cant get momentum to jump. 🤔 (accuracy will be key)
@oldboyamv28342 жыл бұрын
Good point. It makes perfect sense. Target a specific player and try to pin him down.
@runforrestrun19652 жыл бұрын
No, koribete had time as he was clearly there in place for the kick take, he just didn’t make any real effort to actually jump for the ball. Nor did he attempt any tackle. Very poor play, basically gifted him that try, any winger would love to have a present like that.
@juanpbotha2 жыл бұрын
We all thought that this box kick was too far; didn't think Moodie was going to make it. So, I doubt Koroibete expected Moodie to be there.

Spectacular catch by Moodie, and well-deserved try. I believe Koroibete had injured his calf beforehand, but played on due to Aus' 6/2 bench split, so I don't think it's a technical issue.

Technical Analysis ? Those three Australian players weren't aware of his leg allowing him to go for it. All his past games , he would leap the same for the ball. In this case unfortunately, the left leg was hurting. South Africa came out best because of it. That right there is technical analysis. Would be definitely be a different outcome if he was not limping.

@phillipmarchant92212 жыл бұрын
I find it incredibly difficult to believe that an international of MK's experience would opt not to go up for the ball, standing start notwithstanding, and especially not in the sure knowledge that if he doesn't gather, the gatherer scores. Especially also, that he is clearly not averse to 'questionable' play, in stopping certain tries. Knowing he was the last line of defense, he would have known that he need only go up one foot (assuming that's as high as a standing start would allow) to foul Moody, prevent the certain try, and score a 'yellow' for his troubles. But he couldn't do that, because I believe he was injured, either nursing a calf or favouring a knee. He was seen to be in discomfort, rubbing his lower leg, a few frames earlier. Not sure why he was still on the field, but perhaps he thought he could 'run it off', or considered the side had already enough injury replacements to go on with. Whatever, it's untenable to imagine that he didn't go up for the catch, because "Australian's don't go up for high balls". That's pure rot, as Reece Hodge will testify...

No way that Swys is thinking about that.. that's the dumbest suggestion I've ever heard. So you are going to give the guys kicking the box kick more of an advantage because your own player now have to run backwards to fetch the ball and basically lose ground whilst being hunted down by the opposing team risking getting tackled from behind. You lose so much territory that it only favors the team kicking the ball. If Koroibete was at speed - jumped and caught the ball he would have gained the jumped distance territory and would have had the movement speed advantage as he landed. Like Moody had when he caught and landed. Already at speed and boom - try time. Dafuq am I going to do if I catch the ball running backwards towards my own tryline to fetch due to safety risk of my fullback or wing not being able to contest XD Nee fok Swys..
@vik47412 жыл бұрын
I think Swys is making an argument for the safety of those collisions in the air when two players run into each other from opposite directions. I think he is saying, wouldn't it be safer if the receiving team like Australia in this case uses one player that is running in the same direction as the South African to tap back the ball to Koroibete and Koroibete just catches the tap back. He is making the argument that if two players running in the same direction jump for the ball, it will overall be safer for the game instead of two players clashing in the air, running in opposite direction
@rvh40342 жыл бұрын
@@vik4741 we know that. If you want to stop air collisions then make it illegal to jump for the ball.
