She's done some terrific work over the past ten years, hope she is back soon.

Ha, great to see the Royal Scott, my dad was the engine driver of this fine locomotive years ago 👍👍

You've got to admire LSL's attention to detail. The 40 was sporting the correct disc code for light loco movement. At least when it was exiting the shed...! Hopefully, RS will be back soon. LSL do have a few in-service stems locos on its roster though, so it could be a long wait.

Superb Mr DTP,loved the way she appeared out of the steam mist.Beautiful Scot and the equally beautiful Andania

I didn't even know Royal Scot was due an overhaul! Saw it in February last year at the NYMR, and I was impressed by how nice of an engine it was. Hopefully an overhaul won't take too long.

There are a few other LSL locos in the queue so it may be a while yet.

Lovely engine dad she is going out of action 😞 is this for a major service?
@nattyco14 күн бұрын
Spotted her just once in the '60's pulling the Liverpool to Glasgow express travelling under a bridge in the Ormskirk area. I was very excited. I don't think she was green though, maybe red or black at that time. Remember D213 as well, taking the London trains from the NW, but I don't recall it having a name at that time.

Excellent footage. Hope Royal Scot is back after her boiler overhaul Very appropriate that D213 had a supporting role, given that class 40s worked many WCML passenger services prior to electrification

Just a reminder that we owe Butlins for saving FOUR LMS express engines.

And an LB&SCR A1X 'Terrier' BR32678 too. It was pensioned off to Butlins Minehead before escaping to join the nascent West Somerset Railway in the late 1970s.

@RichardGreenhalgh-d6i and a second small tank. 6 in all, but it's the duchesses, PMR and the Scot that I drool over. I suppose that, without butlin, we would still have a princess and a scot in steam, at least some of the time, but with Birmingham incarcerated, we would have had no live duchesses since their withdrawal. Sutherland AND Hamilton out on the main line in preservation , and the possibility of a streamliner sometime in the future.

I mean, every cloud has a silver lining right? While Royal Scot is in Margate waiting for its overhaul, in the meantime we will have Bittern back on the mainline at some point later in 2025 :)
@trainsplanes12 күн бұрын
Indeed however Bittern won’t be back in 2025 - Likely well into 2026 if we’re lucky there. Nunney Castle and the Duke in 2025 are the ones 👍

@DavidFennessy-yj7du14 күн бұрын
What is this..‘boiler certificate’…business, why does take so long to get it done, ?? These things are pampered beyond any thing they got in service for the LMSR and British Railways!!!!
@andrewyoung74913 күн бұрын
@@DavidFennessy-yj7du or, in the reality we actually live in 1-the regulations are tighter than they were in the days of the lms, 2-steam is non standard in 2025, so everything required for them is a specialist part or specialist skill. and that requires, queue the bugles...money, loads of money 3-insurance costs are taken on by the operator or owner. the lms used to be able to turn them around in a month because they were in the business of running a steam powered railway, not running decades outdated tech on someone else's railway in an age when a steam loco is an almost alien object to the railway which requires to be fitted in with insurance, safety systems, legislation on and on and on,. its not complicated.....

Probably will, got the king arthur back on the mainline at some point this year to look forward to so there will still be interesting things around, patriot should come in within a few years as well given how advanced that is. The amount of work left on the patriot is probably not a million miles from the level of work needed to fully strip, inspect, repair and reassemble this fit for mainline use again in reality. Its that far along as a project and progressing every month
