For Cz, why did you multiply by 12/5 instead of 12/13? Why do you do the tan instead of sin?
@divyeshbalamurali587 жыл бұрын
It's a ratio between the small 5-12-13 triangle and the bigger triangle with 1 length of 2.5, so the ratio is (2.5/5)=(z/12). To solve for z, you multiple by 12, the 2.5 is multiplied by 12/5. Nothing to do with tan or sin.

Thank you!!!

could you expand on that a little more ?

like he stated, its the ratio of the larger triangle to the smaller triangle. 2.5 is the given length of the larger triangle (from the x-axis) and 5 is the given length of the smaller triangle (also from the x-axis). so the ratio of the x-axis is (2.5/5). now since we are looking for the z component look at the ratio of the z-axis. 12 is the given length of the smaller triangle and z is the unknown length of the larger triangle. so the ratio of the z-axis is (z/12). now set both ratios equal to each other. .(2.5/5)=(z/12) if you solve for z you get z=(12)(2.5/12). This took me a little while to see too haha

How is Cx = negative 2.5 and no positive
@charlesthomas83752 жыл бұрын
I think because the 2.5 on the x axis is going towards the screen when positive. The 2.5 is away from the screen . -2.5

why did you multiply F2 by cos(a), cos(b), and cos(y) to get the components of F2 instead of just multiplying the position vector AB by the 50b force to get the Cartesian form?
@nathanielcasino51992 ай бұрын
If we multiply F2 to it's position vector we would get the wrong CVN instead we should multiply F2 to it's UNIT VECTOR which is F / | F | it is also the same as he did on the video
