I was just about to type this myself. I think part of what made Limbo's spider so good is that you didn't ever really 'fight' it; it was more of an environmental obstacle that would kill you if you got close to it. Way more tense and threatening than a bunch of skittering spiders that you stomp and kill in one button press.

I feel the problem Jojo is gotten overly meme’d in recent years that it gets hard to sincerely suggest it with a untainted view of it due to the internet memes of it. That's absolutely the problem I've had/noticed. It basically creates four groups: the people who watch for memes, people who actually care about the material and were already on board, people it just doesn't appeal to and weren't going to watch anyway, and the people who were alienated by the memelords and now want nothing to do with it. In theory, this type of separation could apply to any media, but it's been especially pronounced with JoJo. I have a friend who was asking for context on memes, and I explained it as simply as I could in a way that might pique his interest, but he just came out of it caring even less about giving it a shot, so I just don't bring it up anymore.

Also,there are other recent animes that have blown up in the same way,and the part-based structure can contribute a lot to spikes in the show's popularity

Tinnitus and HPPD (static in your vision) from acid is only temporary. It's essentially that you're acutely aware of the static and ringing that is always there but you tuned out. Eventually it goes back away if you ignore it
