Here is the finale of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS as it appears in a workprint of the film made sometime during production.
While the song is made up of final vocals and demo instrumentals, the scene itself is made up of entirely storyboards.

I really like this. Of course the final cut that appeared in the film will always be my fave, but this one gave us kinda more of the light hearted feeling the movie was portraying. And when it gets to Jack and Sally’s final duet, I like the different sounding background music. In the final cut, they played their duet to Sally’s song, giving it more of a somber yet sweet finish, but this version is higher pitched and thus gives more energy to it, making it more joyful. But since their duet is meant to be something slower and more romantic, they used Sally’s theme instead. It also plays into the theme that, because Sally’s song was about her fear of Jack’s fate and her unrequited love for him, when they use it for their final duet, her love is returned and thus giving her theme a more happy ending. But the background music for this cut is still really good as well, the upbeat melodies, higher pitch, and hand drawn characters with happy smiles on their faces really make you feel like everything has come full circle. Love this movie ☺️❤️
