The Unital Ring arc is at best half written, as they’ve only just cleared floor 1 of Unital Ring, and only just encountered the new main villain in Underworld for the first time. Further, Kawahara has not released a new Unital Ring volume in more than a year. Further, no announcements of pre-production have been made as of yet, and likely won’t until the arc is much closer to being finished… which will be years from now.

You’re definitely free to feel that way about the Administrator - in fact, most of us feel the same way. It’s just Kirito, who basically walked in her shoes for ~200 years, has a greater appreciation for what she went through as leader of the human realm, even if he wholeheartedly disagrees with all the choices she made. This is the reason why he has a grudging respect for her even if he would never choose to rule the way she did.

She may have been batshit unhinged but she did bring up that kingdom, also bringing up the knights that would eventually rise to defend it well after her death She probably falls into the bad person but good character category

I'm reading the novels so far, and I love that the novel explains that Rath, especifically Rinko and Higa, are constantly trying to improve Alice's mechanical body, to allow her to produce tears so she can cry and express herself, to allow her to have a sense of taste, so she can eat food and drink stuff and experience life in a less mechanical and more human way in the real world. There's a lot of interesting things in the next arc but I have no idea when that will become an Anime. All I can say is that in the novels, it's explained who are the two girls at the end, why they recognize Eugeo, Kirito, etc, and all that. And so far, the story is incredibly intriguing, I would recomend anyone who wants, to find the translations made for Unital Ring arcs and read them, because so far, the quality is just as good as Alicization.

The coat of arms that appears in those space ships - the diamond with the Night Sky Blade and Stacia’s rapier surrounded by roses and osmanthus flowers - also appears in the novel series Accel World (also written by Reki Kawahara). It’s one of the reasons why at this point it’s assumed both series exist in the same universe. At this point it’s assumed Accel World happens sometime after the Great Intelligence War that’s prophesied at the end of this episode.

I love that Kirito is just having dinner with his family and a robot otherworld knight, and this is after he has saved 2 MASSIVE groups of people from annihilation. He is, in fact, a Hero in a way this world does so rarely ever need.

11:47 - 200 years happened! lol, it took the human race just over 160 years to go from the creation of the steam engine to the first moon landing. With someone who has the intelligence of Kirito (who built his first computer when he was a kid) as the king of this world I think it's well within the possibility that they have ventured into space within 200 years. Especially as he comes from a time where we've long since been going to space in the real world. Add that with the sacred arts of the Underworld and it's very possible. The post credit scene is indeed a teaser of the follow up season which still has not begun production yet, since the creator is still going through with creating the Progressive series. That seems to basically be the only reason the show hasn't already returned yet.

A lot of the accelerated development was due to Kirito's incarnation being able to create what he wanted. Reki did not stop writing SAO to wrote Progressive. The anime ended with I think volume 20. He is already up to volume 27 I'm pretty sure, with one volume short storied and the rest the first part of Unital Ring. It is going to be another long arc, maybe longer than Alicization, and they won't start animating it until it is either done or almost done most likely, so that is the main reason for the long break. He had also written 7 or 8 volumes of Progressive, so it's almost like he is alternating them. Not to mention he has Accel World up to volume 26 or 27, plus another series or two.

you missed a bit at the very end of the episode, it's just a few lines of text taken straight from the last pages of the novels: "All stories have just been told. The tale ends here. However the battles of Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, Sinon, and the others, together with Alice, will continue from now on. Whereby they shall gather once more, sword in hand, on what will be known as the greatest and final battlefield, the [Inter-Intelligence War]. All possibilities are, for now, fluttering ever so slightly beyond an uncertain light swaying ever so slightly." a couple things can be unpacked from this, the first line says "All stories have just been told." this is because at this point, the SAO Light Novels had finally caught up to the original web novel that the author wrote back in the early 2000's, the next two paragraphs, rather obviously, tell us that SAO is not over (duh) and also inform us of the name of an upcoming arc, presumably what will be the end of the series: "The Inter-Intelligence War." which fans assume means a war between the Artificial Fluctlights and Humanity. the last paragraph has two lines in it that, in my humble opinion, are directly referencing lines from SAO's first ending, Yume Sekai; "Forever and ever it will be resonating. softly, softly, it will be glowing" but that's just my opinion.

From reading the light novels, it seems like Unital Ring could be a longer arc than Alicization was. You have two separate stories that may or may not link down the road, and it seems like he's just finally got most of the major pieces in place. This is only my opinion, but I think he's only roughly a third of the way done with this arc, and it's doubtful we'll get new anime episodes till it's either done or close to it. And the last novel is over a year old at this point, so he's taking longer to get new novels done. Plus he has at least 4 series, SAO, SAO-P, AW, and another he just started (plus maybe a 5th). He's put out over 60 novels across his various series in close to 20 years. Not counting any assistance he has provided on anime, movies, games, the GGO alternative, etc. plus interviews, conventions, and stuff like that. He is very busy.

The reason why they didn't specifically mention Progressive is because they are saying he will return when they animate the Unital Ring arc, which is currently being written. It's roughly 6 novels so far, but that's probably only 1/3 to ¹/2 and probably the lower amount. The arc may be longer than Alicization. We're just going to have to wait.

You still have to see the "Sword Art Online Progressive" movies, the ova called "SAO Extra Edition", the ovas called "Sword Art OFFLINE" (entertaining, comic and chibi shorts) and the spin-off "Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online" (of which the release has already been announced). second season). I recommend you see the other work by the same author, Accel World, which takes place in the same timeline as SAO, but 30 years in the future (SAO starts in 2022 and AW in 2045). Regards ^^

Here’s my idea of how we would go down where it takes place after the two seasons of alicization, where technology is about to be really advance because they’re coming up with making robots and nano bots in a very big company in America 🇺🇸, but then a madman with a almost major medical condition, who’s in second in command of the operation suddenly kills the leader of the operation knowing that when he’s Dead he’ll be the one who will run the whole operation and obtain the in the work robots and advance nano bots for his personal desired to control them, and rule the world and another very big goal of trying to modify a nerve gear to what he’s up to. Then before he could act this plan he discovers all the nano bots and the robotic equipment and weapons we’re all been taken by a group of coworkers of the operations which are led by his son trying to prevent him from doing that, so as they ran one of the workers decides to actually destroy the main frame of creating robots knowing they this is all they could do to keep him busy while they try to come up with a plan to stop his nefarious empire goal that’s what his son said and that got his dad mad and coughing up his pain knowing that nothing is going to stop him not even for what his son has planned. Then for the rest of the movie story the son of the villain seeks help from one of the members of raft to help him stop his father, from carrying out his plan on conquering the world with robots and his plan on fixing his machine with somewhere parts are in certain parts of each company that’s around Japan. So the son is name pita he needs other brave soldiers, willing to help with something he developed that can help fight off the bots and a certain someone we know who was nikko tells him that he knows just the right group. Showing up; kirito, Asuna, Klein and Alice are recruited along with a few of the coworkers and a few of the soldiers willing to fight too as they are introduced to the suits and weapons that are powered up and secured by the stolen nano bots the power of the suit and protect the body of the wearer so there body doesn’t break any bones and the nano bots are also in the weapon in kirito’s favorite The Sword where inside each weapon a nano bot has inside has a virus that once your weapon gets up in the robot it affects it and it shuts down, so that’s how far this movie gonna go where kirito and his friends fight off the bots and make sure they don’t steal the equipment from any of the company so that Pito’s father won’t activate his plan on machine conquest. Oh and here’s one more interesting part that I thought would be great for the movie; where kirito and Asuna after defeating a robot through the smoke they Wonder as kirito saids who are those two. As they’re almost there Klein gets so shock 😧 then he says bro it’s YOU TWO, then we are introduced to there big challenge for the movie; ROBO KIRITO and ROBO ASUNA. Pretty incredible right? Yeah, I know I need to be more specific on what will happen for this movie.

Also, I was also going to include virtual reality too I just didn’t have enough specific storyboard ideas Cause as you notice, I didn’t actually write that much of how far that movie would go and I want Come up with a movie idea but that is a lot of work. The reason I have that robot idea was because since from the season of alicization we had like one of the kind robots in there like higa robot 🤖 and kayaba’s robot that his conscience possessed I thought in the movie The main villain Starts up making robots that he will control And do his bidding and discovering how kirito and Asuna and their friends are a threat he decided to send a robotic drone to their home To hack into the nervegear and steal all the info from their time in SAO And put it into robots that he made to almost look like them as they become their tough challenge. Then we go the villains big plan where he’s actually making a powerful robot 🤖 Where he can use a nerve gear that he has with the upgrade equipment that he made the robots steal for him, and upload his consinceness into that robot, so he be unstoppable. Yeah, that’s kind of what I thought it had a movie it be like that

SAO is a light novel series. The anime and any manga written would be based of the light novels. That being said, the light novels have started the next arc, Unital Ring, but it is going to be long (maybe longer than Alicization) and they most likely won't start animating it until the arc is over or almost over. My estimate is that it is around 1/3 done, but no one knows really except the author. We'll just have to be patient. He also has the Progressive series and Accel World (as well as another series or two) he is working on.

Also, just so I won’t forget I told you what I thought about if there was going to be a wedding for Asuna and kirito. Well get this I was thinking it takes place if there was like an extra epilogue that happens about couple years later in the graduation high school the crowd free cheers for the graduates 🎓 but then sooner or later, since it was over Asuna and Kirito gave them a big surprise as they took off their graduate uniforms and revealed kirito wearing a black tuxedo 🤵🏼 and Asuna wearing a wedding dress 👰🏻‍♀️. After one of the vows, they said that really touched their friends hearts they may on their relationship and how much does two really meant for each other and then when the priest ask one of them if they had the rings, guess who actually comes with them; yui with a body of her own, like Alice who comes over to the two and is glad to be here for her mommy and daddy which actually surprises their parents. Finally after the two of them say I do’s the priest say’s: by the power vested in me, and the power vested in me, and from the time back in sword art online aincrad when they were together but this time it’s for real, I now pronounce these two players, partners, friends, survivors, young couples, even heroes! Husband and wife; and kirito kiss the bride. I would like to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Kirigaya and the whole crowd and their friends cheered with the girls tearing up and even Klein with joy in their hearts. After that, they both start assembling their graduation party, and their wedding celebration while one of the Marry couples friends starts giving their big speeches of congratulations to them I am sure us viewers will think about what they might want to say, then on kirito and Asuna start heading to the motorcycle, which on the back says just married and head off to the night to their honeymoon and soon their future of making a connection to the virtual world and the real world for everyone to enjoy. That to me would’ve made this a really great finale for the story and how these two to me are the best anime couple I have ever been introduced to for this year.

You should probably let Reki finish up Unital Ring and see if he's going to write the war that leads to Accel World. Because there's a lot of unknowns still and problems to be solved before they get married.

No, it is based off Reki's new set of light novels where he is covering Aincrad floor by floor, which is what a large group of fans wanted. The movie does add a female character that isn't in the light novels, but that's the major difference. It does add scenes from Asuna's perspective which Reki did in the Progressive novels. And it continues the retcon of Kirito meeting Asuna on floor 1 and staying with her (presumably till floor 25 when she joins the Knights of the Blood Oath) instead of what happened in the original light novels (not meeting her till much later). But aside from floor one which we essentially saw in episode 1 of the anime, we now have floors 2 through 6 which we did not have before. And there is a second movie, but I'm pretty sure they skipped at least the 2nd floor and maybe the 3rd.

@@NikkiTaLance since Reki is writing and publishing them, it isn't fanfiction of any kind or for any character. So you didn't just state an opinion but also made a statement of an incorrect fact. A case can also be made that an ongoing light novel series and two feature films with more potentially to be produced makes it very important to Reki, the studio, and the fans, especially in Japan. And the author carries more weight than you do regarding his own work. And I didn't even say a thing about Asuna except that Reki retconned her into the early floors and the Progressive novels do some parts from her perspective. There is nothing to say whether I'm a fan of hers or not. But I guess that would entail actual reading comprehension on your part.
