I love this❤. I always wondered why us Agents have to buy poor quality leads and dial 500 calls before someone says yes. We have what people need, it should have been an easier process. We protecting people's lives. Most of us agents are bankrupt buying leads and eventually we lose our joy as agents! Also false advertising. The way they design the ads confuses people and they give us a bad name. Eg $9.99 for $30000. What they fail to say is the rate is $9.99 per $1000. Advertising accurately and target the correct market will help us be more successful.

I wish this was around 2 years ago. I was one of the agents who convinced myself that the leads were fresh and it was up to me to become a better agent. After 1 year I figured this wasn't a sustainable approach and something needed to change. I pivoted to medicare and Final expense ONLY with direct mail leads and I saved so much money. I remember dropping $300 on internet leads and it was all bogus information, and fighting so hard to just make one sale. I thought that was normal... wow.. this change will be huge for some and shake out the bad guys.

This is pure gold. The company that I work for had multiple meetings with all of us talking about just this a few months ago, and for new agents to NOT use any lead vendor (unnecessary anyways) due to what may happen to the agent legally. And I just know the MLM I was formerly stuck with will be deservedly shaking and losing money soon. As they deserve. 🤣🤣 EDIT: In the end this will make it easier for agents, like myself, that want to have a real conversation with real prospects and deliver quality protection much easier. This will also improve our overall reputation as well.

It’s not just the MLM it’s also the lead vendors that have been passing off ‘B’ as new and exclusive leads.

I think it’s a great thing for our industry. Your going to see a major uptick in “Lead Gen Courses” lol I thought I saw somewhere that the end user must maintain record of the consent. Thats going to be tough for Lead Vendors. Obviously the lead vendors are all quite but I’d love to hear more from carriers in Medicare that give leads to “Multiple Agents” too

I volunteer my time as bait for scammers and have never filled out a survey for life/burial insurance. Multiple third-party scammers have cold called my bait number (which is on the Do Not Call list) and then transferred me to an agent who claimed not to know where they got my number. There is no way I would buy insurance or anything else from an agent or company with those marketing practices.

I agree, this is definitely a good thing. What I forsee happeneing is agents either going to 1 of 2 models. They either work as a broker and generate their own 1-1 opt-in leads. Or they join a free lead program. Both are great options are really just depend on the agent and their preferences.

I think this is a good thing. Hopefully some of these MLM companies will get sued out of existence and only the better companies will stick around. BTW, have you ever heard of symmetry, i will be starting with them soon and wanted to know your opinion of them. Thanks and take care.

I’m also curious about your opinion on Symmetry Financial Group. I had an initial interview yesterday, but it felt like the interviewer was downplaying selling as lesser to recruiting and that recruiting is where all the money is at.

I got my feet in the door with symmetry. It's exactly the type of MLM he's talking about. Recycled "leads" and you're encouraged to buy buy buy the leads. I realized what the company was and never got inti writing business with them. Currently looking into how to separate myself from them and what I need to do to get reappointef with certain carriers I'd like to offer moving forward.

Those bogus ads are still running 😂. I would know I work at a call center and I roll my eyes Everytime I hear someone who is calling because of those leads. I enjoyed my time helping seniors but I will no longer be in this industry as of May 2024

I'm betting the workflow of lead generation will become more competitive with FB ads. An agent use to be able to do 10-20 dollars a day in ad spend and perform decently. Now, just to start an ok run takes 50 dollars a day. With this pushing more agents to advertise on their own, i see that threshold going up. I like that this is happening with eliminating the insurance lead sales companies. Those of us that have already been advertising on our own will have that step up in recruiting agents because we already have the systems in place to support them.

You will see agents who'll run ads for a week or two then stop when the leads don't come in fast enough. And you'll see agents get their ad account shut down because they don't know what they're doing. Legit lead vendors will have to increase their prices to stay compliant. Agents will either pay the higher costs or exit the business if they can't self generate business.

If it works and it sticks, and these agencies are held accountable, that’s actually very good news because this will help these insurance agencies to regrow some healthy organic practices as far as leads go. Yes, they will be more expensive because supply and demand, but potentially more convertible to making a sale.

As far as aged leads go. This law will not allow lead vendor to sell aged leads to multiple insurance sales agents? Only to one agent exclusively, correct?

can we please get the FCC to do the same thing for real estate? Zillow and the other portals all play this game. Take one buyer's info and sell it to multiple agents, NONE of whom are the actual listing agent the buyer is wanting to hear from.

What about single sellers? Meaning, if the life quote is requested from a single seller and passed ONLY to that single seller? Is this an explicit list; or, can we assume if meant for one seller/sent to one seller, this process of disclosure does not change?

Based on what I'm seeing, that's what I'm interpreting. You can have multiple end recipients of the lead as long as it's disclosed and the consumer has the ability to select.
