Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even kzbin.infoUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.

And I have a question pleas, is it necessary to have the cloud at the home? because I have a router at home and when I travel I take it with me and the home is empty of connections! can I instal a SIM card within the camera and mange it from the app? thank you again Patrick.

Great video and review! And I must say I'm also impressed by the marketing done by Eufy, sending out cameras plus a hard drive to a lot of tech youtubers for them to install and demonstrate. Unfortunately no discount available for us in Sweden, but I still ordered the 2 camera + homebase package. Seems like a good product!

How’s the mounting? I don’t like drilling holes into my home exterior so do generic gutter mounts hold securely enough or does wind cause artifact capture? I do like all the other features - very good review!

Excellent Product and Excellent Review! 1. When you say “use the 2 way audio” with the camera, it can only be initiated by you initiating the talk to the stranger? Or can the stranger initiate the 2 way audio so effectively it will act as a door bell? Or can the algorithm for recognizing stranger movement and notifying you to watch the camera real-time and then you initiate the 2 way audio? 2. Have you get the chance to test the solar charging for the camera? Is it reliable? Thanks!

How is the latency? Is there a big delay in the app when the camera detects something? I check them out, and they are not compatible with HomeKit yet. My house uses HomeKit for all of my smart devices. I did see they are working on getting it integrated into HomeKit. This looks like a great option with the built in solar panels. My current camera system uses external solar panels I had to mount next to the cameras. The built in feature seems a much better option. Thanks for the video.

DO NOT buy Eufy products on the promise that they will be adding Homekit support. Apart from the 6 gen 2 cameras that have support, they have not updated any other device to enable Homekit support in at least 2 years. Until they actually start enabling devices, claims that updates are coming should be considered fictional, at best.

I have these cameras and I don't know how to turn off motion notifications for people who are in the database of recognized people. The camera informs me that I went out into the garden, which makes no sense. Is there a way to turn it off so that it only alerts unauthorized people?

Eufy is made in China and has been caught uploading photos to the cloud, without telling owners. Plus, facial recognition apparently is a Chinese "thing" and they use it to control their people. All that said, Eufy does seem to have the best quality system out there and I'm debating whether to buy one!

I am looking at this system. But I will say the nice thing about video stored in the cloud is the guy who broke into your house couldn't take the video evidence away with him.

Oh absolutely. You can of course choose to back it up in the cloud. Some people don't like that.

The Eufycam does look like it will check all the needed boxes but and that is a BIG but when it comes to motion detection... It uses a separate motion sensor that has a hard limit/reach of just 8 meters. Does not work on the actual camera image. So yes it has great resolution and image but does NOT give you notifications if the motion is past the hard limit of the motion sensor. That made me return my kit after 24 hours. I like the idea and I did fall for all the youtube reviews before my buy but NONE of the reviewers has any info with regards to the hard limit/reach/limitation of the motion detection.

What about the camera sync vulnerability? Is this issue fixed yet? I just ordered the S330 and homebase 3 package before I found out about the deception and outright lying about the security issues. Might be returning without opening based on principle alone.

I'm aware of the issue. They've made adjustments in their firmware and their communications. Should be fixed now. For instance, when I get my video snaps from spotted persons, it takes a tad longer and there's a message saying something along the lines of "getting local encrypted file" (don't quote me on the exact words). Ultimately I guess we never really know..

Great security system but unfortunately not perfect as it does not support Apple Homekit, “sync button” security issue which in case of intruders can disable homebase/cameras and also they can block the access to the video of them doing so. And not sure if these camera are coming with Matter support.

Hey Patrick you are where that the Eufy Cam 3 (330) only records snippet to also there Homebase what a joke they claim that it supports 16TB good luck trying to get a 2.5 inch drive in 16TB you can get an SSD which is incredibly expensive and they are only found in enterprise drive for now and I should point out to you don't want to buy a 2.5 hard drive larger than 2TB because the bigger drive are shingle magnetic hard drive which are bad news. Personally, there is no reason why they cannot make a 4K camera to use PoE Ethernet which is easy to run and for my better video stream like NVR system do or WiFi 802.11ac 5GHz but no it has be slow 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

When they stopped working with Apple HomeKit I had to stop considering Eufy as an option. Perhaps Apple HomeKit users were not worth the bother of working with Apple.

Hey yes they sponsored the video and I did mention it in the video. I've heard a our the cloud issue in the press recently. Apparently it was mostly a communication problem. If I understand correctly, when you choose to have images pushed to your phone of motion detected, those images are in fact processed through their servers (have to be) but not stored. They did a firmware update recently, addressing this so that people are a de aware that this happens when they choose to toggle that option.

Thats the problem, in some parts of the EU when the whole video is sponsored (as this video clearly is, so its not just a part, where a mentioning this part is sponsored..) you have to disclose that at all time. I am pretty sure that same applies to belgium, where you mark to be. Yt has a checkbox option to do that My video contains paid promotion like a product placement, sponsorship, or endorsement. Ltt has made this issue public, so really hard that you did read that in the press and not be aware of it already before making that video content and not mentioning that at all in your video as it is a month old already. Don't get me wrong, i just see a transparency issue here and as i am a sub of your channel i want that straight because i like watching your videos

Yes it has. And it was never anything like what’s been said. You can donate clips to eufy and there the clips that got saved in the cloud. Only clips you sent to them were shared. People are absolutely ridiculous

I have multiple Eufy cameras and liked their recordings a lot… until the scandal broke that they lied about not uploading your videos to the cloud. Not only did they lie, but videos were unencrypted, so anyone who could find the proper URL could see your video. While I do like the cameras, they are expensive and unsafe. The solar panel is likely useless in certain environments. While I have the previous camera version, Eufy sells a separate solar panel that can be used to charge. This new camera basically combines the two. However, with experience with Eufy’s solar panels, I’m dubious if this is useful. In all of my cameras, the charging is incredibly poor. I end up manually recharging the cameras anyway despite the solar panels. In summer, one of my cameras that is always in direct sunlight would slowly discharge but still went steadily downward. The other cameras even slightly in the shade (trees mostly) didn’t seem to charge much at all. In the winter, they are completely useless. Unless you live in an area with bright sunshine all year round and your house or trees don’t cast a shadow on the panel, these solar panels aren’t useful. Unfortunately, Eufy doesn’t really have much competition and replacing these security risks are too expensive. I ended up shutting down the cameras I deemed most risky to record family activity and left only the two on the driveway and porch active because I don’t trust Eufy anymore. Note Eufy brand is owned by Anker.

I would be careful of Eufy. Seems they don't take privacy seriously. Eufy security cams 'ignore cloud opt-out, store unique IDs' of anyone who walks by. Gadget maker accused of 'corporate voyeurism' by gathering up footage against your wishes. This is the title of an article in The Register, an Enterprise Technology site
