My camera was on ver 4.0 before the update, so go on Sony’s website, update pass version 1.05 as I had stated in the video then update to ver 5. I have no issues with my update, been using the camera with no errors or problems.

@@CKracer86 you’re welcome they suspended it just to be safe because the A7rv firmware was giving trouble so they pull all download links.

I was about to upgrade but decided not to until people report back if there are any problemas, I will wait. I have a couple of big projects coming up. What I do no understand is where people were getting 1/48th shutter speed with out using the Anti Flicker setting? And I I also want to know if this Shutter dangle is using the standard 1/50th and 1/125th or actually 1/48th and 1/120th like a real shutter angle would be using in a cinema camera...

@@ekphotography yes its using the same shutter angle that is found in other cinema cameras also once you shooting in 4KDCI you could access 24p without the anti flicker settings.

In terms of "cinema" I am not sure how important having shutter angle is. There really isn't a lot of changing of fps in cinema (unless you are doing bullet time / matrix stuff). This is coming from a guy who shoots panasonic and have had shutter angle in my cameras for year. A much more improtant feature, IMHO, is the timecode input that Sony has implemented in firmware for the fx30 and fx3, and even in the a7S III (with the optional cable), as well as the ability to shoot true 24fps (it's DCI 4K, right? Or is it just 4K UHD?)

Once your LUTs are already installed on your camera, they can be deleted from your memory card. So yes 😅 the luts have to go.

It will work. Just follow the instruction on the Sony site. As mentioned in the video, you cannot jump straight to v.5 from 1.05. You have to update in increments.

Shutter angle has nothing to do with frame rate, but with shutter speed.

I personally get #triggered when people say 30p, 120p, etc. It's 1080p30, 4K60, etc, so it would be p30, p60, etc. 30p means 30 vertical pixels. You are more correct to say 30hz, 60hz, etc. I just hate it when people say 1080p 30p, etc. It #triggers me.

Guess you wont be working in this industry then. You are using a consumer standard (like a lemming), not a professional enterprise standard, which is using "p" as "fps".

Actually p stands for "progressive" as opposed to interlaced, whoch is still used in some applications - some broadcast TV, for example.

@@sbozinovic Yeah, you have two p in the same code, so you need to put the code so you don't confuse people. The fact it's not interlaced and it's progressive means nothing. 1080p 30p sounds stupid, you say 1080p30 or 30hz. No one uses interlaced or even knows what that means.

I don't give a shit if it's progressive or inlaced, you say 1080i30, not 1080p 30i. That's ridiculous. No one even knew what interlaced was back in the day when people even used it. It's 30hz.
