Have yo tried pausing? For example, a meeting that is 2 hours long but takes a break after 1hr. Do you pause it then resume?

Genuinely curious, does the physical device do anything better than what comes natively on iPhone? Kinda seems like the biggest unique use case is the (somewhat sketchy) ability to record convos more discreetly than with your phone… I guess is it just that its design encourages you to actually use voice memos more often? I have voice memos set as my action button on iPhone so I’ve managed to develop the habit but it was a deliberate effort
@SpencerScottPugh12 күн бұрын
Great question man. I think it comes down to work flow. It’s all in app. You could technically do all of this exact stuff by importing a voice memo into chat gpt. However this records audio, transcribes, has templates for summaries, and a good filing system. Single use kinda workflow. I think that’s the biggest advantage here.
@jeremyasteward12 күн бұрын
@ it seemed like you could upload audio recordings in the app that had been taken elsewhere (such as, via your phone), and still get the benefits of the software without requiring the hardware. Or have they not made that an option?
@SpencerScottPugh12 күн бұрын
@ I think you have to have one of their devices connected to do that. It gets greyed out if there isn’t a device connected 👎

so many questions since i watch your reviews and have already pre-ordered this. 1. how does it work undershirt as opposed to out in open; 2. stand by and recording battery life? 3. Waterproof or IP rating? 4. does it vibrate vigorously when you start recording...can you do an auto stop of recording or notify if the recording is going too long? 5. for to do lists...like if i just want to say 'add eggs to grocery list' ...how does it work to autatically categorize this in plaud notes....I'm already a plaud note user..can it automatically categorize things intelligently?
@lynnfromPLAUD22 күн бұрын
Hi friend, thank you for your attention. 1. It works well with all outfits. 2. It supports 40 days standby time. 3. It is slightly waterproof, for example, using it outdoor in rainy days will be no problem. But we do not recommend poor raining. 4. Yes, you can feel the vibrate obviously. It can't stop automatically. 5. Yes, you can write a certain command with the "Ask AI". And yes, the files recorded by both NotePin and NOTE will be stored in the app.

When I read your question #4, I imagined you were trying to use this device as a vibrator, also might be why you were wondering if it’s waterproof. Please don’t stick this in your ass!!!! 😂

Hmmm then I read your name “anil4real” it’s all starting to make sense. Again, please don’t stick it up your anus! I am advising this as a medical professional.

How long is the battery life on it? Could you wear/use it all day on one charge or would you need to charge it mid day, that’s probably one of the most important things to me.
@SpencerScottPughАй бұрын
20 hours of continuous recording and 40 days of standby time

If there are multiple people talking, can it differentiate who is talking?
@SpencerScottPugh21 күн бұрын
Yes! Then you can go in and mark who it was and it’ll update the speaker everywhere they speak. Pretty cool

I like your videos. You are straight to the point and helpful because you see the use of something as in daily basis. Thats the most important. Thanks 🙏🏽 you deserve being paid for this review hehehehe Ive been considering buying a Plaud but this device looks super impressive and honestly i think im more inclined in buying this. Thanks for the review. Questions: Does it work if you attach to the phone like the plaud and records the phone calls? Does it work properly for Portuguese from Portugal language?
@SpencerScottPugh13 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind comment! To answer your first question, No it cannot record calls unless you put it on speaker and it picks it up that way. To answer your second question, I do not know! I assume the languages would be on their site but also, my intuition tells me it would be able to work with Portuguese!
@OMundodaTutu9 күн бұрын
@ thank you so much. Usually these type of devices go to Portuguese Brazilian language but I want Portuguese from Portugal. Either way I end up ordering the first Plaud. It’s on its way. I would prefer the size and portability of the pin but recording phone calls are a must for me at the moment. Thank you so much for your kind help and replying so fast! All the best 🙂

Is the built in recorder better than that of the iPhone?
@SpencerScottPughАй бұрын
I don’t feel like it is. But they are also touting tech that helps pick up and isolate voices better so idk 🤷🏼♂️

I am curious, in California all parties have to agree to be recorded do these devices let you know there could be laws that prevent the use of this device?
@SpencerScottPughАй бұрын
I would assume that’s up to the user. You have to manually start the recording so idk why that would be on Plaud if you decide to record someone without consent
@ScottStodulski28 күн бұрын
Have you had the opportunity to test this with individuals with heavy accents, where English is not their primary language? I often find myself hitting the caption option on conference calls to ensure I understand the participants. That takes my eyes off them, which reduces my engagement level. Thanks in advance.

I have not! I did see that it can transcribe many different languages though!

Apple Intelligence is going to straight up kill this company. I had the Plaud Note and used it daily until the iOS 18.1 Beta. Now I use Voice Memos and Writing Tools. Basically the exact same thing, and the best thing is it's free.
@SpencerScottPughАй бұрын
Cool! What’s the workflow you use?
@kuakilyissombroguwiАй бұрын
@@SpencerScottPugh Really simple: 1. Record in Voice Memos 2. Export to Notes 3. Process Transcript with Writing Tools It's actually a better workflow than what I had with the Plaud Note, which made it cumbersome to export the Transcript and Summary to an app like Notes.

@@SpencerScottPugh This seems like one of those products searching for a problem and which creates problems of its own. Also, as a corporate lawyer, the idea of people recording all of their meetings is making me die. It's bad enough when executives make dumb comments in an email or chat. It will only be worse when we have an entire recording of conversations.

It’s legal for me
@liz1Ай бұрын
i can't imagine many situations where it's illegal. recording audio in public spaces is legal in the united states at the federal level (there is no expectation of privacy in public) and most states are one-party consent even for private conversations. an exception is obviously whatever private property you're employed at, it would be a little silly to use this without permission from your employer to record business-sensitive info.
