man i would love it they can squeezes more pixel into that screen, for me to read anything it needs to be 1080 resolution... otherwise it's too blurry.

You reviewed them wrong. They are a monitor in glasses exactly what there supposed to be. If they blocked out everything how would you text on your mobile. I look down onto phone actually and like the idea of multitasking like eating watching down the side or down to see what’s on my desk etc. these are not vr glasses which are totally sealed. They’re just not for you only. These are brilliant glasses maybe you have a faulty pair. As with the beam. That is extra features if you need it. The glasses work well directly in my iPhone 15 pro max. You done the glasses no justice at all. 🫵👎👎🫸

Thank you for the honest review. Almost the same experience as I had. I think it is just an expensive toy to watch some videos/movies and play some games with handheld or similar portable device.I wished I could use it for work as a portable monitor replacement.

I totally agree with you! I've been using this product along with my Apple Watch for the past few months. honstly, at first, I felt a bit weird in my chest, but after a week, I barely noticed it was there. And that vibration alert is amazing, especially during workouts, it keeps me from overdoing it and being too hard on myself and the continuous ECG thing is something the watch just can't do.

Interesting take but absolutely correct or somewhat false depending on a persons expectation. If you try these, or any of the AR glasses out there, expecting an Apple Vision like experience, you're not going to find it. If you try these expecting a passive screen in your face, then it's not bad. I've had the original Airs and Beam since they came out and with low expectations, I'm content with them. With my head size and PD, I guess I'm lucky with fitment and viewing angles. I just ordered the Air 2 Pros (thus how I ended up on this video) so I wonder if I'll get the blurry edges but I didn't notice them with the old pair until I checked after watching this video. I'll dig deeper into that. As for usage and expectations. I travel a lot so I use them to work and watch movies on planes or throw up some extra monitors while away from my home office. Using the Nebula app on Mac is ok. It's one of those things you don't think about until you have to be critical of a product (like making a review). The field of view isn't natural so if you are using a triple monitor setup in Nebula, you wont have full peripheral view of the outer 2 screens while you stare at the center screen but is that a realistic expectation. You can adjust the field of view with the app to get just about all 3 screens in your FOV but then they are tiny. You can also adjust screen size by changing the virtual distance of the screen. Playing with distance and FOV I found a happy medium. In the end, Im doing the same thing I do with a physical triple monitor setup. Turning my head/body to see what's on one screen at a time. NOW I notice some edge blur or more like a ghosting. If I look at the corners of my desktop (with and without using the Nebula app) the icons in my dock or the date and time in the top right corner do appear to be "glowing". Best way to describe it. Never bothered me until today lol but now I cant unsee it. I think I have an average PD so nothing is cut off or illegible around the edges but on the very edge, things aren't super crisp. It's also worth mentioning that I wear prescription lenses and I'm using these glasses without the prescription inserts. The image through the Airs is much more legible without my prescription vs staring at my computer without my glasses on. I also have not cleaned them since I got them so that could be part of my issue. On to the Beam. Pretty limited but handy. If I just want to watch Netflix or Prime Video on a flight, it's cool. I don't have to kill my phone battery and it provides the additional viewing modes. I believe the slow head tracking mode Spencer is referring to is called steady follow which does eliminate micro jitters that definitely give me motion sickness after an hour. You can also pin the image in space, shrink it to Picture in Picture mode (which I do sometimes to watch content and work on a physical device at the same time as an augmented overlay), or lock it to your head movement. Thats it for the Beam though. 2 apps, a power bank, and display controls. It does get hot in your pocket, it does have a fan, and it has decent controls on it. You can also store files on it. If you expected more then it's not for you. For watching movies on the go, it's pretty good. If you want better options, the Rokid Station is Google TV and apps in your pocket. Viture also has the Neck Band that I just bought to go with my Air 2 Pros. This is a blend of an android device, power bank, file storage system, and light AR interface. They all get hot and the Neckband also has a noisy fan. I just think it offers more and it wont be heating up as much as the Beam suffocating in my pocket. Theres a Rokid Station 2 coming and a new Beam that both should be significant upgrades for AR experiences so we'll see. Overall, like Spencer said, if you like gadgets and have money to spend, all of these things are fun toys. That includes Apple Vision, although it's much more refined and immersive, it still isn't the floating hologram in your face that a lot of people think these glasses are. If you have realistic expectations and the right....head and eye profile for such things, they can be pretty useful.

I've been researching switching to a dumb phone for months, but ultimately, I think I'm going to have to keep my dumbed-down smartphone, because things like tickets, restaurant menus, etc are all digital now. I've found it just about as effective to turn my iPhone screen to black and white, DELETE all unnecessary apps, and that's it. The phone becomes so boring in black and white, I don't even want to look at it. But I still have my family's group chat, good quality photos for memories, and transportation and navigation, all of which I need.

Do you think the reason typing on the Light Phone is such a pain because of the inherent lag of e-ink displays? Back in the dumb phone era I was texting almost as quickly as with a smart phone using the T9 interface, so the only reason I can think that a full keyboard would result in such an inferior typing experience is either due to lack of physical buttons or e-ink display lag.

I wish some functions could be embedded into the glasses itself, without needing the beam, like wireless display technologies like AirPlay DNLA, WiDi... also embedded that ability to simulate 3 displays. I'd honestly be more than happy working those. Like this you can connect to your devices wirelessly, and enjoy. I'd go even further saying that we don't need the speakers, but more battery built into the glasses. Everybody owns some headphones. I'd be using my AirPods Pro. It can isolate sound, and it has pass through.

I’ve owned both XReal 2 and Rokid Max, and unfortunately had to return the XReal’s. The experience was not what I expected. I travel by air every week and found the XReal’s very uncomfortable and unpleasant to watch movies for a long period. I found the Rokid Max a much better experience. I can take a 6hr flight using the Rokid’s with no problem. Plus the screen on the Rokid Max is bigger.

The reason why its blurry around the corners is because the distance between the displays is not adjustable. The distance between the eyes is different for everyone. That is why some people love these and some don't. I just can't understand why the manufacturers don't make this adjustable. The Apple Vision has an automatic adjustment for this distance, but that is overkill and expensive. We just need a manual adjustment, that will fix the blurry text issues around the corners.
@Food4thought1234
@Food4thought1234 6 күн бұрын
I have the same issue with blurred vision. The issue is everyone faces are obviously different, but I don’t think they took into account how many people faces aren’t even. You may not notice but on eye may not be level with the other. You will need to pull one of the eye pieces really far. So basically you will make it adjust to your uneven face. Then you you can use the ear part to level it better. But even doing that. There will be so much pressure on the nose that you can’t wear it long periods comfortably. What they needed to do with this upgrade was make the lenses larger. This would help with uneven faces and the millions of different face shapes. Yeah it would cost a bit more. But if the glasses aren’t comfortable or it’s blurry what’s the point. But yeah. If you do that you can actually get a crystal clear view. But again. You won’t wear it for long.

When I first discovered dumb phones this wise phone 2 is exactly what I was dreaming a proper minimalist phone should be except it should have a blackberry keyboard or atleast a 2cnd version that does. The whole tool/app thing is perfect, so u can still request productivity apps, or something like a light control app like philips hue or wiz, whatsapp, waze, google maps. If I could just request from them exactly what apps I want n they custom make it with those apps, n if I need more they can access the device n add it in or remove.

In the big scheme of things, you're a nobody. A very small KZbinr. No wonder xreal isn't making you priority. And this isn't AR. It's a portable monitor. AR is software tied into a heads up display with certain features. Expecting this company to pack in the hardware, battery, software, etc. into glasses when the tech doesn't even exist yet let alone no one else has even does this is so short sighted and expecting too much. And you're also complaining that Apple hasn't conformed to usb standards. It's not xreal's fault that Apple is greedy and stubborn. Android has had video over usb c for years now. Sitting there referencing an actual AR headset like the apple vision pro which costs ten times more and is much bigger while having your apple laptop up front screams fanboy. Dude, you need experience in a lot more tech before you keep doing "reviews".
