After too many unreliable LS swaps, I have been searching high & low for a seamless HEMI engine Jeep swap that would ease all my fears of EVER doing another Jeep V8 engine swap. Here it is, the most ideal Jeep engine swap out there.

Awesome is all I can say!!! The reliability factor is huge. Running engines that constant need worked on is fine if you have the ability but most jeepers, I think, aren’t capable and don’t want to be tuning on their rigs. Very promising product. Standing by for updates on your build.

Gee thanks for this video! I just got back from my trip pulling my 3500 lbs. Rpod camper with the Gladiator from Kansas to Colorado and back. 37's with 4.88 gears and I was in 5th most of the time at 9 mpg's. Was thinking about the Hamburger supercharger and then I get home and see this!! Although not sure if I can afford this right now but dang that would be nice! I will be in touch about my options.

I had a 392 in my 2014 and it performed great. There was a wire that rubbed through on the maiden voyage off road and once fixed it ran great for 36K when I sold it. My fan was really powerful and only had a high speed which made it super loud since the V8 on the trail needs a fan almost constantly. I think by now you may have a multi speed fan. I think it should always have some fan speed on the trail, maybe 50% to keep the temperature on a more constant plane. Mine did not over heat contrary to the old rumors about Hemi's overheating. Once you drive a V8 JK / Jl you will want one!! Great job!

Really enjoying your videos, been reading reviews on your shop and staff. Yall really seem to know what you're doing, inside and out. If I do end up getting a gladiator I may decide to use your services. Also, only live about 2.5 hours away, so no driving across the country for the work is a huge plus.

Is there a Hemi shop that builds engines as good as Texas speed does LS engines? What about swapping a 6.4 in my grand Cherokee when the 5.7 gives out

It’s a swap that looks and performs like OEM. That’s not cheap to pull off.

Exodus 4x4 I understand that. It’s not cheap to creat a product that good! I just wish that Jeep would have just put a 5.7 from the factory. That would be 100% perfect for a daily. Just enough hp and torque to get up some difficult trails! Don’t get me wrong the 392 is bad to the bone but isn’t really needed for most cases.

Correct, 4.88 is perfect. We didn’t change the gears for other reasons, so keep watching for more videos down the road.

Maybe a dumb question but, how does the gas mileage compare to the V6? Would you need to add an additional gas tank to get the range as what the V6 provided?

Very Cool Bubba. I'm sure you got a lot of Jeepers drooling. My wife asked me long ago why men enjoy doing motor builds and installs. I told her "Honey it's as close a man can come to experience the joy of giving birth". I noticed the SEG's on everybody's face after start-up.

Bubba! Couple questions if you can answer... ballpark range for cost of parts and labor? also, what would you consider the prerequisites of a hemi swap? Like say I have a bone stock JL, does it need 1 ton axles, drive shafts, minimum lift, what? Thanks dude. good video.

I saw your posting of the swap costs. For a 2015 jkur you would have the swap cost of $35k. How much to do it right on 37's? I have a stock 44 in the back and a dynatrac 44 in the front. Do I need 60's for both? What else besides lift and tires? Thinking 35k for swap, 15k+ for 60's with lockers. What else would be related to doing the conversion right?

You’re real close, and it’s nice to see you’re being realistic. The price you mentioned includes the 8 speed but I’m not sure how available it is for the JK right now.

Yeah you need to compensate for the weight in the suspension. Axles aren’t always necessary but a great idea. Depends on how you’re going to treat it.

Seriously though, what does it cost for the swap, ballpark estimate. Also, are the factory axles too weak for that engine?

Towing capacity isn’t so much based on the amount of power the engine has, and actually depends on many factors. However, it’ll tow the 7,650 pounds it was rated for with EASE!

Sorry but that’s a sexy looking engine🤑😉😳🤙🏼😉 Does the intake route only driver side? Would be curious if a dual battery kit from Genesis would work or does the hemi change all of the engine bay placements? Don’t know if this has been asked, but is a snorkel possible or does it mess with the air induction to the engine? Would you suggest getting to bigger axles before considering a hemi swap? I will have to say hemi is now on the wish list. Awesome video!

Exodus 4x4 I’m guessing the engine bay is too small to accommodate the tray and engine, or that the hemi comes with its own battery tray that genesis or another company hasn’t developed a dual battery setup?

Would the process shown here be pretty much the same for different trim models (specifically the Mojave)? I know that trim has some redesigns over the Rubicon, does any of that effect this process?

We have done this same conversion in a Mojave with stock suspension. We had to use the Rubicon transfer case but that doesn’t really effect performance. How often will you be hauling ass in 4L? Probably never. Keep it in high range for that. Only concern was making sure it had enough bump stop to protect the engine oil filter. We added some to the axle side and it was good. Customer has decided he wants to add 2.5” lift so we are using EVO’s diesel spring kit and adding the extensions so we can retain the Mojave’s shocks. Should be a solid build after that.

Is reselling them how you can save money on our turnkey price? It looks like your price is pretty much the same as on Most Wanted's website, so just curious if labor and reselling the old parts is how you make most of your profit, or do you give them back to the customer? Don’t know. Towing capacity doesn’t necessarily increase just because the power did.

I HATE to add this to the mix, but can I use a 392 (or even a 5.7 Hemi) with my stock NSG370 manual 6 speed in my 2011 JK? I can always upgrade the clutch to one that handles more horsepower, but I would REALLY REALLY like to keep my 6-speed. Not to dog it or whatever, but just because I don't like working on automatic transmissions. I hate rebuilding them, which is why I went with a 6-speed when I bought a Jeep. I just really want that V8 power, and it seems the Hemi is a lot easier for Jeep (manual) than an LS swap would be. I just need to know if normal driving (not race car level, drag strip driving) is possible with my stock transmission. I want to know if it will bolt directly to the 6.4 or if I will need a different bell housing or whatever. So many forums just STOP, as if the people gave up on the idea. I want to make it happen and I'm willing to push myself to make it happen with a 2009 6.4 Challenger 392 manual engine. Anyone have any information (usable information, that is) that could get me started so I can pull my 3.8 out and get this 392 in. Thanks!!! (Jeff)

That transmission should line up in a JK to where my shifter lines up just about in the same spot. I gotta do some measurements Appreciate your time, as I know you guys are slammed.

Correct. The transfer case adapter is only built for the Rubi case.

There should be an option for the 8 speed in the JK but I know for sure the 5 speed will work with it.

When you do a hemi swap do you use a new transmission as well? Or do you have to use the same transmission?

@4x4 exodus, seriously thinking of driving from Colorado and taking a one week vacation to have you guys do a Hemi swap for me 😁! Saw you guys offered a 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi swap. Are they both error code free and does the jl offer enough air space in case of a crash for both these types of engines? Would love to get that power onboard, but want to make sure it s safe when I'm driving my family.

I can’t honestly answer the question about safety either way. Yes the conversions are super clean and without any electrical gremlins. Just like it came from the factory.

Supposedly that’s the holdup on why we haven’t seen a factory V8 Jeep Wrangler.

@@Exodus4x4 Yeah, heard the same. That test wrangler 392 we saw a few months ago could be the working prototype that adds extra space to account for bigger engines while remaining crash compliant. We will see if they make it happen. With the Bronco coming next year, they may think they have to now to stay infront of the competition, but we will see!

Doesn’t motech use the existing mounts for their LS swaps? It sucks you have to weld new mounts for this Hemi swap

Those Motech mounts suck. We have them in our JKU and they’ve come loose before. I’d rather weld in new mounts any day.

Motech mounts are garbage along with their entire kit. Motor literally fell out of the mounts on me until we finally modified them. When we finally scrapped the motech garbage the hydraulic isolators were wasted.
