I genuinely didn’t realise you’d been stuck under TB restrictions for this long 😔. For us none agricultural lot, we need to hear what farmers like you have to get through with it as most won’t know. Well done to your mum for putting your little script together 👍

Thanks for sharing your story Dan and glad you're finally clear. We've gone down with TB from this week again. We have a beef rearing unit and buy in all our stock, so it's a bit of a disaster. I am glad that you have explained that there is a big knock on effect when your farm gets shutdown.

Really feel for you and family, staff dan. I was in nantwich, cheshire with cows 89-99, tb wasnt a worry. Moved to suffolk then norfolk managing cows and we were blessed as mainly arable areas, few cows, tb wasnt a problem, we were on 4 yr testing. I knew guys in somerset etc testing 2 mthly and thought jezz, poor buggers. Well done on getting thro it mentally and financially.

Not boring at all. I hadn't realised you had been shut down for so long, probably because you never mentioned it. I do remember when yopu first announced it, how emotional you were. Hopefully that the end, at least for a while. Good luck going forward.

Not boring at all Dan, very interesting in fact. I'm an ex farmer myself and we had problems with Tb. Such a relief when you go clear.

it’s absolutely mind blowing how little the news covers tb, every time it’s on it’s always a badger thing and how bad that is, but this side is never covered, country file only ring badger experts in never discuss with farmers what they go through emotionally or financially!

Very interesting video Dan, always knew TB was a grim disease to have on the farm but didn't know all the ins and outs of it and would say a very well done to have weathered that storm 🙄😕 I feel very fortunate to have never worked on a farm up here 🏴 that has ever faced these issues, 🤞 for the future of the farm 💪👍

Dan, thanks so much for the detailed, heart braking and informative presentation. Not one bit boring. Can't believe it's two years from your first announcement of the TB which took nearly a third of your family's living away over the course of a year. So glad to hear you are clear. I hope the stores sell well! Perhaps because it's a political hot potato you didn't go into any thoughts on why the South West is so afflicted.
@jerry39727 ай бұрын
It's great that you are now out of the restrictions! TB is such a massive problem here in the Southwest and it's great that you have highlighted it. I worked on a few dairy and beef farms and loved the work but left after an illness made it difficult for me to work full time in that environment. Sadly they were shutdown just before I left because of TB and now the farm is completely empty as a result.
@ireneforward81157 ай бұрын
Thank you for that very interesting insight into the problems you face with TB . As a non farmer , I found it most informative . Please don`t be cautious about giving another " no nonsense " talk about any subject on your farm . Best wishes to you and your farm .
