Hey @@BoroCG I was wondering what digital art glove u use for when u make art? I've been meaning to get a decent pair :)
@BoroCG11 ай бұрын
It came with the Huion drawing display I use. They don't come in pairs though :D

this episode really highlights how many issues i have with substance painter as an artist that's already used to photoshop! some of these workarounds are just ridiculous. i have a worse pc than you and i literally have to straight up export the textures to "merge them", then continue working like that in order for substance to not crash, instead of grouping things.

Your PC specs aren't substances problem

Hey! Great work as always. I just couldn't help but notice that in this episode you might have hyperfocused on the details a little too much... Of course I don't really know what your plans are regarding the "cinematic" use of the shoes. But I'm pretty sure that focusing on how the sole should look or how the roughness between the metal bits of the zipper should be is a bit extreme. I get that maybe this was your way to bring back the memories of how the workflow goes, and that's fine. I myself have fallen into the hyperfocus rabbit hole too many times, so this is just a friendly reminder to avoid that!

Hi Boro! You can add filters to a simple layer above the other layers, and so you can easily mask it. The important thing is, just put the filter layer mode to "passthrough" on the chanel what you want to adjust below the filter, basecolor, roughness or whatever. I hope it helped. :)

Awesome as always. I look forward to these vids

super nice! can't wait for the demo

You can make an adjustment layer by creating a blank fill or paint layer and setting it's blend more to passthrough, then apply the filters / mask to that layer.

Yeah thanks, that's what I rediscovered in the second half of the video haha

I think like red/burgundy color would look better than gray on the soles of the shoes. I mean.. You'll rarely see it but it would add a nice pop of color EDIT: Nevermind you completely covered it in mud 🤣 I retract my statement. This is looking incredible man I'm so excited to see more progress

Hey Boro, I don't know if you still wanna do stuff like the SCP videos but I really enjoyed those, and I was wondering if you could do something simiar to Lethal Company and the monsters in that game. For most, you can also go just look at the bestiary entries in the game. Cheers

Is this gonna be John's final head model? He looks a little lacking in detail compared to the rest of him, dunno if it's a metahuman problem because I don't use them but, yeah, his face seems to lack overall detail, maybe you can do a sculpting pass and bake that down to make him look a little better. Those shoes though *chef's kiss* perfection.

I mentioned in the video, the head's textures are all messed up when exported from Unreal, and I didn't export the eyebrows, the stubble and the eyelashes

The blending modes in substance painter work the same as the ones in Photoshop so it is not a mode to change the color of the object it usually blends two other layers in a way where if you give a black-and-white photo it won't destroy the black and white (luminance) of the photo. In 3d you can colorize an ambient occlusion map with it
