Hi Ravish, I’m glad you discussed the home buying process today. I visited Orlando Walt Disney with family in the March break. We loved the clean and open areas and most of all the sunshine!! As compare to Toronto. And my family was shocked to see only 6% tax as they loved the shopping experiences and food is tooo good! Specially Shake Sheck, chick O Fillet and many more restaurants. I need to know that as a cdn citizen, can I purchase a property in the US? I’m sure I can get a teacher’s job there and what do banks landing guidelines? Truly appreciate your input on this? I just can’t get over the daily warm sunshine I experienced during my visit 😊.

It’s possible to buy as a Canadian. Lots of people do that. They call them snow birds, spend winters in Florida summers in Canada. Even Canadian banks will give you mortgage for buying in Canada if you don’t have a job in USA

Yes we experienced the same People were putting offers more than listed price. It’s insane how one can actually bid higher. There were times when we see a house and while we are still in there we got a message from the realtor that it’s under contract . But finally we found one in weddington.

How is the mortgage pre-approval process is US? Do you find it easy and similar to Canada? Also is it easy to flip homes in this city, if you needed to move again? Are houses good investments there? Do people buy multiple houses like they do in GTA?

very similar process. flipping house is also similar, but there are more opportunities in states as compared to as Canada is relatively more expensive. there are a lot of people in RE investments and if you have a new(er) house to sells quickly. key is the quality of schools, not every area has good schools and safer neighbourhoods

@@RavishVlogs I agree about the difference in areas that is why in the same city in US you can have a house priced at $50k and a house priced at $1 million ( for example Detroit area and many others) because bad neighbourhood’s have literally no value because of safety and schools. What interesting is that sometimes a bad neighbourhood and good neighbourhood is barely 10- 15 minutes apart. But generally people i know in US are usually not multiple home owners like people I know in Canada.

No still Canadian citizenship eventually will get US green card citizenship

Four years back bought a big house in US and in last 2 years both the kids went to university leaving the house and after graduation they will move again for a job or masters. So there is no point in buying a big house. Only 2 people in big house is difficult to maintain and 3 bedroom house if best, now we are planning to sell the big house and move into 3 bedroom house with 2 garages.
