The camera difference between a professional specialized camera and the iMac one is pretty telling. This is something for pros and streamers. Wonder if it could help in conference calls? Probably not. Maybe for really advanced work from home setups. And I found Jenna's subtle self doubt at the end to be quite adorable 😅. Like she doesn't even realize her content is mostly really good and this is no exception.

I'm glad someone finally compared a high quality webcam against the new iMac webcam. Everyone was speaking so highly of the iMac webcam, but I had a hard time believing it would be competitive against a modern high-end webcam like this or the AverMedia PW513 or the Razor Kiyo Pro, which seems to be the case. I would love to see Apple put a full iphone camera array in their systems at some point; at least a normal and an ultrawide coupled with a LIDAR camera to make a more accurate virtual shallow depth of field and FaceID.

Why are camera built into Macs and iMacs so horrendous? This camera crushes the one in the iMac in terms of image quality. Definitely worth the upgrade if you’ve been using the built-in iMac camera.
