Simply amazing amount of back breaking work. You are a machine Johan. Mad respect! Absolutely no one on a sailing VLOG comes close to your ambition and drive. Marlin’s work is less obvious but editing, being a mom and a lot of hard manual labor is remarkable too. You’re an amazing pair!!

I know I've said this a number of times but I'll say it again. You BOTH do such a nice job of explaining what you are doing. Yohan does a really nice job describing the process. Little things like how helpful the new respirator is and how much it helps. And, thanks for including Vera in the episode!! Ron

Fairing 50’. That’s one hell of an upper body workout Johan! Wait till you get a coat of paint on the hull. You’ll forget the pain and the was it worth it thoughts instantly, as you continue for years to admire those sweet sweet reflections. Been there.

Ahh to be young and able to endure the gruelling work - which looks easy on a video but must be back breaking. I'm glad to see they are protecting their lungs. Damage doesn't show up for decades after which it is too late

I was just thinking that even when I was young and in shape I would not have had the endurance that Johan is showing here. They don’t call it a ‘torture board’ for nothing.

I have no real interest in boat building but have watched every episode attentively. I think I would watch videos of Johan explaining how to boil water. Something about J’s patience, steady dedication, expertise and meticulous care in every detail is mesmerizing…and the humble tone just makes it ultra charming. Lovely family, epic project, high quality videos. ❤

Malin that is a brilliant move to clean up. Due to its exothermic chemical reaction, epoxy droplets/waste rugs on the floor dust are a severe fire hazard. Cheers.

Well done, you two! I did get tickled watching Vera climb that tree in your yard (about 10:30+ into your video). Even though she really wasn't stuck, she finally decided that she'd gone about as high as she was comfortable going -- sweet grin and all. I've an idea that on one summer day, she'll make it very near to the top of that tree! Having been a tree-climber, myself, at her age, I actually spent many hours resting in the branches of our buttonwood tree -- caressed by the wind and swaying of the limb I lay on. Those remain to be some wonderful contemplative moments of my own childhood. 💞

Suggestion for both of you - when it gets 55f /13c deg outside open your double doors and use two leaf blowers ( have your masks on) and blow away. After 3 sailboats I learned my lesson. As Malin did in this weeks video - - Pre-sweep the floors and tidy up as much as possible prior to this event !!😊 Keep the faith - stay focused as you are now !!😎👍 We love every Friday waiting for you updates.

Since the fairing compound additive is designed to be sanded easily, I have found that a heavy initial layer on a properly keyed surface saves a lot of work in the end. The only real down side is that due to the thicker layer that may exist in some areas, and the lower scratch resistance of the compound, it may result in more or deeper surface scratches in use.

When we built our 44ft yacht we called the "long board" a "torture board" because it absolutely was! Ours had 2 handles, one handle with Barb written on it and John written on the other. Keep at it you will get there in the end. It feels great when you stop!

I recommend before you apply the base coat go with a marine filler primer and put on several heavy coats and then when you sand it then its will help flatten things out and get rid of low spots to prepare you for your base coat.
