I bought mine in 2007, still running strong. It stopped once after I left it in the drawer for some months. Took a few days to recharge and reset, but I got it working. Still the same battery. 17 years!!

Thank you so much!! Ive owned this exact same watch for close to 20 years. Its worked flawlessly for probably almost 15 years. The battery died prob 5 years ago. I put it away and forgot about it. Recently rediscovered it and bought a battery. It would not work. Due to wearing it for so many years all details on back case are completely worn off so I had no where to turn for info. I stumble across yoir video and the reset worked! If you're ever in Phoenix I'd be happy to buy you a giant beer. Thanks again!!!

Thanks! I have a different Eco Drive chrono that wouldn’t start back up despite 3+ days of charging. I thought was dead and needed replacement parts. The reset did the trick!

Thank you. I'm going to give this a shot after putting it in the window for 5 days. I lucked out and got mine in a lot for $19.99. People that own this watch don't understand that unlike normal eco-drive watches these rely on the battery for the complete movement of hands.

Thanks, may need this, thanks for sharing, ditto with Seiko that in the manual mention reset. Purchased a rose gold Chrono with second hand jumping but soon runs smooth after half an hour, but will keep it in the window all day. If we still have problems will do a reset. Steel straps are comfortable and look terrific, did this with an Aqua-land steel bracelet looks fabulous!

You didn't really explain what you did with the connectors. I went back to my watch, and after looking at it with a loupe, I noticed the tab near the center of the movement on the retainer on top needed to be pushed a little more to the right to be "locked" into position.

Hey, this worked for my Citizen with movement E660 ! It was dead for 2 years in its watch box, no light whatsoever. I got it in VERY close proximity to an LED light for 2 hours, then I turned the pointer to CHR pulled the crown out as much as I could (there's only 1 click on this movement, so no "position 2") and pressed and hold both buttons from the right-hand side of the watch. No beep at first, but after 20 seconds things started to show on the display. It came alive, eventually beeped once and it is now back working !

Thanks for the video. I have a Citizen Eco Drive with an E812 movement that has stopped working. I downloaded the manual and tried the all reset to no avail. Thinking I may need a new battery. Is there a special tool to remove the back? Thanks again.

Great video! I have an E811 movement eco drive from the early 2000s and I am trying to diagnose some issues with it. The watch second hand is moving but I find that I am unable to move the hands in the TME mode. All I feel when I turn the crown in that position is a little clicking feeling but no movement from the hands. Also I see that the minute / hour hands are not moving at all as the seconds hand advances around the watch. I am just wondering if you experienced the same thing when you were trying to get your watch to run? Thanks

I have experienced the same issue where it will switch modes due to my activity. I have not figured out a way to prevent it yet. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Runs great, I wear it often and leave it near a window if I am not going to wear it.
