Hey Wizard, I have an old Actron code reader with an OBD1 connector for my '94 Camaro.
@dunebasher19714 жыл бұрын
OBD1 wasn't a true standard. Every manufacturer used its own connector (two different connectors in the case of Chrysler - engine and body connectors were completely different) and also used its own data protocol. That's why there aren't any universal OBD1 readers like there are for OBD2. You'd need different cables for every make of vehicle and the scanner would need to understand different data protocols for every make of vehicle. A few aftermarket companies made OBD1 scanners, but they weren't universal and typically limited to a handful of makes, or even a single make. Often, the only choice you have with OBD1 vehicles today is to find ex-dealership factory scan tools on eBay - I picked up the Chrysler DRB2 for my 1992 Jeep for about $300. OBD2 was mandated as a true standard, so it uses a single connector and a single data protocol across all manufacturers. Of course, that doesn't stop manufacturers using their own proprietary data protocol for all vehicle systems that aren't covered by OBD2.

I would save the Lamborghini program to an SSD before that 10+ year old hard drive fails
@ke7eha4 жыл бұрын
I would be cautious on an SSD. Data retention, particularly when they are not powered on, is not great. In addition, older versions of XP don't coexist well with SSD, they tend to cache a bit much and will burn through the write/erase cycles on the drive overly rapidly. Unless you know the OS is updated, I would not use an SSD, and I would not touch the OS for updates unless absolutely necessary. I would have an image on an archive in multiple locations. I would also attempt to spin a VM on modern hardware to insulate against potential hardware failures.

I have the old Mercedes Benz 300e that uses the same fuel distribution system. I had such an issue and my take is on the FD..The fuel distributor. The wizard can unscrew the fuel lines one by one checking whether they are equally distributing the fuel as needed. That distant miss is usually remedied by a tune-up. My mechanic accelerates the car like crazy as he unbolts those fuel lines. If the FD is working as it should, Check the injector nozzles. Just my take.

Why didn't you go the manual swap way?
@sqmotorsports92304 жыл бұрын
I've seen so many comments about this it triggers a rant. The transmission itself isn't the issue; it's the interior. You'd have to change the whole console and footwell, and assuming you can even get the parts anywhere, at Lambo prices I'm guessing the bill would be like 30 grand. And the resale value would likely go down, not up, because it was converted. With exotics it's all about provenance and everything being "correct;" a DIY trans swap on a car like this would be a resale disaster.

Speaking of the Bentley, it used the Bosch jettronic system that was used by many European cars for fuel injection. I would check the diaphragm may be torn or with the use of ethanol in fuel disintegrated it, and the injectors to see if they're gummed up.

I'm 4 hours late to the party, and this video already has 75k+ views and 3k likes and 90 dislikes(I wish we could see the reason why ppl hit the dislike, mostly petty dumb reasons I'm sure) but that view count got me thinking... I remember over a year and half ago when I stumbled on Hoovie channel from a Doug DeMuro video and ive been booked since ... But I look back at how much smaller and cheaper things were... It GREAT to see Hoovie moving up from his normal 2 car garage he had and normal house.. to his epic garage and house now and how his success has benefits f thee wizard too... Makes me happy to see and happy to be along for the ride to see the growth

My personal favorite story: I took my car to a mechanic. He parked it on the lift and it stalled. Fuel pump failed at that very moment. I was standing next to the lift and I was laughing so hard.

But did you say "It didn't do that before I brought it to your shop" ?
@ast55154 жыл бұрын
@@PedroTRamos1 No. I told the guy the sound of the pump prime when I turn the key changed a week earlier and I expected it to die. I just didn't expect the perfect timing.

Many new cars are difficult to work on because of proprietary tools and scanners. This equipment is very expensive and backyard guys can not afford. Dealerships love it. I bought a new 2005 Gallardo. Very dependable but $1000 oil changes with $3000 yearly checkups. Insurance and yearly registration very expensive. I enjoyed it very much with Lambo runs with dealership sponsored. I own Tesla’s just as fast
