Your intro with the Miami Vice/Ginsu knife music is addictive in a sick kind of way as are your Auto-misadventures. You make the mistakes that we can't afford to make and allow us to vicariously enjoy them! Your like the Motorhead Jesus...You need a beard...Cheers to you!

@Hoovies Garage I don’t think you have the dumbest channel at all, I think you have the most brilliant one! It is extremely entertaining and also informative watching you buy these vehicles and getting them fixed up! I can see how it could become a huge addiction. I would be the same way with cars. I didn’t miss the Star Trek reference on the wall… I am loving you more and more!👍

If I was a high roller in 1990, I would have looked at the 348, and bought an NSX.

I had the same top issue on my 360. Very common. Tell the new owner that as it's opening, if he reaches directly above your head and feel for that little bar and just lightly push it backwards as the top is going down it should complete the whole cycle without issue. There are elastic straps in the canvas that are supposed to pull that back as it's being lowered, but they stretch over time and don't pull that bar back, resulting in the top getting "stuck" where it did in the video. Common problem that he can google as well.

I love the Spider (Spyder?) models of the 348 and 360....the long wide rear deck lid ...and that engine bay glass on the 360 sells that car.....hard to resist getting fixated on such a rare detail that exposes Ferrari’s true artwork...the engines they build

Those costs makes a Corvette seem like a bargain in comparison.

Corvettes ability to be repaired all over America relatively cheap also mean the corvettes a better deal especially the newer ones.

Corvettes have always been a bargain. However, there is nothing quite like the feeling you get driving a Ferrari. You can't replicate it.

As an engineer with also the knack for repairs, I cannot tell you the numbers of times someone gave me something that apparently needed serious repairs but for me they would work well of just come together at a low cost. I feel that there are a lot of people pout there who suck at diagnosing the real problem so they use the throw money at it process to get something going.

On all cars always check the battery. If our Cayennes battery gets to discharged from sitting a long time or if a cell starts going bad it causes all kinds of issues. It will still start ok but the awd light comes on showing am error. The transmission shifts slow and clunky. The engine will have a few misfires as well. All this goes away when you put a new battery in or deep charge the battery in it.

The failure mode of a timing belt involves the pulley skipping a few teeth or the teeth themselves ripping off. Rarely if ever do belts "break". Changing the belt should generally be done due to mileage, not necessarily due to time since installation. I learned this during 19+ years of Porsche 928 ownership.
@pkt12134 жыл бұрын
That's how I feel when people want to change the timing belt on Porsche 944s every 2-3 years or like 20k miles. My Sequoia also has a timing belt on an interference engine and I changed it every 10 year, 100k miles. I had a 4runner with 154k on the original belt. Maybe with 80s rubber belts but an old 4cyl isn't doing more wear than my 4.7 VVT V8.
@Nippledozer4 жыл бұрын
Difficult to say how much each is wearing the belts, since the belts are specifically designed and specced for a certain life cycle. But yes I have heard of 944s having more timing belt stories than other cars...

Manufacturers specify maintenance intervals for a reason. Is it worth destroying your engine and paying a huge bill when a few hundred dollars every few years would prevent it?

I had to repair the roof on my EOS, I cracked the rear headrest plastics doing so. Also if you have like a foam cover over the hydraulic pump or if its encased it's better to get rid of the encasing or cover because it'll overheat the pump.

$80k for 100,000 miles, sounds like less than a dollar per mile! I don't think most Ferrari's are that cost efficient.

I think youre right. My customer went from a Ferrari to a Honda NSX, the first service for the Honda was £200. He said Ferrari wouldn't even open the door for £200. On saying that another customer had an NSX which needed the gearbox removing, that was thousands as the housing was structural.

Those seat inserts are Rad !!! Keeping the Targa-Rarri with the gated shifter was the smart thing to do, and giving the Ninja a good deal on the Yellow Rarri was a great car to have around to display his competence in the field of Exotic Repair, but that Alpina is still a ho$tage, yet could be considered in storage, in what looks like your quadrant of his shop. I would flip the Porsche to get the Alpo back, soon.

Tyler, At the very moment you were talking to Johnny and Johnny said ‘battery cables’, I had to pause the video, roll on the floor and laugh for at least a couple of minutes! The number of times I have seen that, especially in exotic cars, (over the last 45 years as a tech) is crazy 😜! But you were wise to pass along to Johnny since your family is getting bigger 😃! Love your videos man 😂!
