Finally Flying again! FMS F-86 Sabre 80MM Second Flight: Better than the 1st?? Landing Gear Failure

Mark, I've seen this on ALL of the manufactures.. FMS, Eflite, Freewing and Flightline... Just one of those things. I now really torque on the landing gear and any plastic parts glued from the factory. A little twist and they may pop out.. I either remove and re-glue with my trusty E6000 or use my syringe with E6000 to squirt some in the sides. If the entire part won't come out without damaging the surroundings foam. Cold weather seems to have a play in this too. Good luck with that big F86.. Great looking plane.. - Will

Thanks Will, no matter the manufacturer, I'm sure the vast majority of models are made in the same plants in China, so if they are not putting enough glue, it's affecting all brands. You would think this would be an easy fix if enough people have complained about it in the past. F86 is a beauty, Chomping at the bit to get more flights on it.

@@MarksAultimateRC Yep, FMS makes plane for many manufactures.. Good news, Its an easy fix, but is sad when our pretty planes get scraped up..

This is a systemic issue with FMS. Had it happen on my F-86, A-10, Rafale, T-28, Avanti and the BAE Hawk. They just don't put enough glue on these gear mounts. For the price they're charging this SHOULD NOT be an issue.

Agreed, seems like it shouldn't be a hard fix, tell the guy on the assembly line he is being chinsy with his Chinese glue!

Hi John, Unfortunately, the 2 flight I have on this are on the channel, so I have not had much flight time to make adjustments. I don't know that I went with anything different but the out of the box settings for the receiver, the roll axis is still a little sensitive for my tastes, not sure if I will adjust expo, rates or both. Think I might also turn down the AS3X a bit on the roll axis as well. Hope to have more flights on the channel of this soon, just need better weather!

Thanks for watching! Seemed like a pretty good model when I was putting it together. Not like it is a Durafly or Banana Hobby product. But I have consistently had gear pop out like this on a slightly hard landing from multiple manufacturers, including Horizon and Hobby Zone

A guy at my club had the exact same thing happen to his new Sabre. That wasn’t a hard landing. Thanks for sharing. We got lucky this weekend. Was 65 and sunny down here in Chicago. Wind wasn’t too bad till yesterday. Now we’re back inside for a week or two. 😂. Can’t wait to see more of you flying.
