Whenever we fish the bay and we hook up we make a point of being quiet about it and we try not to attract attention, otherwise we will get surrounded by clueless weekend warriors (As if all the fish are only under our boat). It is sad but that's just how it is. Great vid!

That's the problem with weekends if I Fish weekend I'll go offshore yeah charter captain you don't have much of a choice on what day you fish but with the boat sales going through the roof I think it's only gonna get worse to I remember the 80s you couldn't even buy a fluke the commercial draggers went out to where they winter over and wiped them all out and North Carolina just shut the fluke fishery down completely

When I am using a spinner, I only use a jig. Otherwise, it’s usually jig and teaser on the conventional set ups.

Learned how to fish in the Peconic Bay as a kid in the late 80's at South Jamesport Beach. Grandparents bought a summer home there right across from the post office if your familiar with the area. They lived in Queens. Unfortunately my uncle sold the home in 2009 or 2010. Was not happy. Looked like a great trip!!

My grandparents have a property in between South Jamesport and veterans Beach on peconic bay. Like all you have to do is walk out the door and you are on the bulkhead looking down on the beach. Only problem is the water is shallow with no structure for miles. Porgy fishing is excellent between July and September at high tide, and sea Robin's are everywhere. Every once in a while I can get a short striper by livelining a northern kingfish or a short fluke off the beach.

What a nice fishing trip with a fun group of guys! Our Flounder Fishing Season this year down near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel has been kind of slow to this point. We fishermen are blaming two Northeasters that both lasted 5 or more days during May for the muddy conditions and poor fishing results so far. Hopefully, things will get significantly better over the next few days. Looking forward to watching more videos of your upcoming trips.

I am surprised you don't have 5 or more boats following you each trip! Lots of people watch your vlogs and if they see your boat people will follow trying to learn your spots. I know a charter out of Niantic used to get followed by that many boats as he posted on a popular site all his catch. Good trip catching!

A lot of those big boats in the Gut. It seems they don't like anglers. They have all the space and they will pass between the fishing boats.

We used to call it the old fire isalnd short drift so rampant up island fishing off Hortons a few years ago out deep drifting a small spot for c bass with a few boats doing reallly well a guy pulls up right in the middle of us and drops a anchor I pulled up to him and politely explained what he was doing wrong to my surprise he pulled anchor and got in line and drifted and caught well just how I explained to him lol

GLAD to see another video I was getting concerned something may have happened .I totally agree with you the boat with 4 engines was inconsiderate, I wonder if the cops gave him a ticket? I"m not sure if its illegal to be a asshole.I have twin screws and can produce a good size wake. I always slow down but sometimes navigation can be difficult when the fleet is drifting over a channel and nobody seems to care to move to give you safe passage . I think everybody should have a better attitude since we are all in this together! nice catch you put your fairs on !
@jiggingjerks
@jiggingjerks 2 жыл бұрын
He definitely got a ticket. Cops had him pulled over too long. He was coming out of the Harbor by where we were fishing. He should have slowly cleared the boats and then gunned it. He gunned it while in the middle of the drifting boats which caused a big wake. If he was already on plane in the channel, the wake would have been smaller :)

Great vid capt. There’s just no common curiosity with a lot of guys. I’ve been pulled up on by boats while fishing in my kayak just cause they see me catch a short. Almost close enough to hit their boat with my rod. And that’s in my local river. I’m done complaining about new regs here in Nj but they have brought a lot of attention to the shallower water rivers/bay. Been like a parking lot and no respect for other anglers. Tight lines capt 🎣
