Thank you for your videos. Really helped me decide to order the NVG 30

Nice video Brother…looking at your comparison, I am not at all disappointed in the capabilities of the NVG 30…all I have to do is recall how limited I was before. I think it will be more than adequate for my needs…and can’t wait to get mine out to a really isolated location and put it to the test! I also picked up an ATN OTS XLT thermal monocular…I think it provides some additional usefulness outside the capabilities of standard night vision…all the best and God bless…

I picked up an NVG30 for like $425 and they are decent. Obviously nowhere near analog, but for someone on a budget they can do the job.

@NegdoshaManido 2 minutes ago I have a gen 2+ PVS14 monocular, and I am still impressed with the NVG30's. I bought a binocular setup to run two NVG30's, and it is nice to have two eyes under night vision vs one. For hobby use, airsofting, etc the NVG30's are great, and I would rather not put my PVS14 at risk of damage in an airsoft game at it's price point. These have their place, and I am duly impressed with how far digital night vision has come. Thanks for the videos, as they helped me decide to give these a try. God bless, brother!

How are you getting around the problem with the anchors for the mounting screws on the mounting plate on the housing of the NVG 30s? I’ve had nothing but problems. I had to ship it back to the seller…they modified it… got it back. Still couldn’t work with it… the screws wouldn’t, grab the grooves on the anchors on the housing because they are too short,(they installed a reinforcement plate to keep the anchors from falling off. So it creates a larger gap that the screw has to pass through before it reaches the anchor) So the screws are too short to reach the grooves PERIOD. It’s been a crazy debacle they work great but unfortunately the solution is weak at best. Still can’t use them … can’t mount them on the Wilcox mount because there really is only one screw that will hold the mounting plate on the NVG 30.

@@elitecombatfitnesscentral6170 I’m sorry to hear that!…. I didn’t have a problem with the two units I own. I just made sure the screws were placed straight in and gently spun them in so that I wouldn’t strip any of the threads. Mine were fine.

@@TrainToLIVEinTheTruth UPDATE: the screws that come with the alternate singular mount are long enough to reach the Wilcox mounting plates after the housings are modified. Mission accomplished. Thank you GOOD NIGHT GEAR. I’ll be function testing the setup this weekend coming.

I love my NVG30 and I’m extremely impressed with it. It’ll do the trick for me while I save for a PVS-14.

Have you ever compared the nvg30 with the sionyx aurora or aurora pro? God bless!

@@kylefreemason I personally haven’t. Only because I don’t have access to a Sionyx Aurora. There may be a video out there though.

Awesome comparison! Never seen through a PVS15 so thank you for sharing that! I agree with your analysis completely and for most people the NVG30 is probably good enough. How were the moonlight levels when you filmed this test?
@TrainToLIVEinTheTruth6 ай бұрын
Actually very low. Just last night. So maybe a quarter moon at best. I should’ve mentioned that.
@UrbanSurvivor6 ай бұрын
@@TrainToLIVEinTheTruth Pretty good considering average moonlight!

FYI, many other analog housings have built in IR Illumination. PVS-14, DTNVG, RNVG, and a few others have on board IR.

I used to have a pvs 14 gen 2. The nvg30 is pretty much on par with gen 2 ... Old gen 2 not gen 2+ or anything like that. I run and gun with my NVG30s and they do the trick.

A lot of single pvs14’s with good specs both green and white phosphor for sub$3000. My first nightvision was pvs-7 with surplus green phosphorus gen 3 was $1400. Digital nightvision has come along way, Sightmark makes a helmet mounted monocular nvg that priced reasonably.
