I bought a miller syncrowave 210 ac/dc tig stick and spool gun mig machine. Had to take it back four times for repair. The inverter failed 3 times and then the high frequency start module failed. I think the hi frequency module was bad from the start and was killing the inverter by backfeeding hi voltage into it. They just kept replacing parts without really looking for the root cause. While the miller was down I bought a harbor freight vulcan pro tig 200 ac/dc machine and have had zero problems with it. It's not as nice but it worked when I needed it and serves as backup now.

I did same as you, after years of thinking about it, scheming, dreaming etc I finally got a blue box courtesy of a tax return.. I showed up with cash in hand, to a very shocked air gas rep who'd never seen a customer roll in with that much cash in hand for a purchase. Miller told me it would be a 3 month lead, I got a surprise when they shipped it in a few weeks. My multimatic had an unexpected glitch that I didn't discover for a while, in manual mode it wouldn't initiate arc, it would feed wire and trigger the gas but no arc. Using the auto modes all was well.. The mdx 250 gun that shipped with it had some minor issues, that just shouldn't have been overlooked (it looked as though someone hadn't assembled completely). So that no arc condition persisted for weeks, I had consulted with miller and my local airgas, all of them were shocked and didn't believe me when I told them but eventually they verified my claims. When I was about ready to pack it up and take it back to the shop I bought it from, the most absurd thing happens - all of it started working as it was supposed to. The 255 multi-matic, is hands down the most expensive single purchase of any tool I own. The expenses didn't stop there... I had to buy several tanks c10 & c25. I recently bought a spool gun, there was some hard won knowledge that came with that purchase. The Spoolmatic 30a, has a lot of differences over the Spoolmatic 30a Pro, the singe biggest one is the number of head tubes that fit them. The 30a pro has 10 interchangeable heads it shares with the Alumapro XR, the 30a only has 3 and none of them are shared. This is information all the sites and sales reps i've interacted with won't tell you. The 30a is 1900 usd, the 30a pro is nearly 3k, about the cost of an Aluma Pro XR push-pull gun. 6 months later, i'm still chugging along casually welding steel from 1/8" wall to 1/4". I'm looking into buying a water cooled Mig gun, because my mig gun is burning my hands when i work on heavy plate, the stock gun kind of sucks. Happy welding dude!

Still using our Miller-matic 250 my dad bought in the 90's replaced the gun and all the wearables several times and it gets used a lot would be an understatement. Where is your water cooler? Me personally I don't have a Miller or Lincoln or a 3sab I ended up going with a primeweld Tig 225x I also have the maxcool 3000 water cooler and I run a flex lock FL 230 water cooled TIG torch had the machine now for a little over a year flawless everything I throw at it takes it. Now far as my MIG welding goes I still have my first multiprocess welder that I learned on it's a susemse MIG -255 straight out of China. I used it because it was a multi-process to teach myself how to TIG weld I learned how to make and stick from out of high school. And I can say this is my second and third welder I've ever had and I'm in my late 40s. But I can definitely say I had gentlemen who have dynasty 250s and big Lincolns and they say that the primewell weld right up there with them on AC and DC.
