Saw a copy of this at STUFF in Portland, OR back in 1997 or so when I was a little kid... they wanted like $20 for it though-- so my dad was having none of it, despite having played the Shareware version off of AOL's file library. Always did grind on me a bit as the "one that got away," as the next time I visited in 1999 it was gone. Crazy to see that box again. Someone must have bought that copy, so there's likely one from Portland floating around somewhere.

Depth Dwellers had a free shareware version preloaded on my Dad's old 486, which was our first computer. It scared the hell out of young me, I thought it had a really creepy environment and sound direction, and the chained humans were pretty disturbing for the time. However, in my adult years I could not remember the name of this dumb game, just some graphic details, but thanks to your video I now can relive this bizarre memory of a terrible piece of software. Though I will say the weird combat where you can shoot down the enemy projectiles is kinda cool.

It is always a great feeling to find something when you have been searching for it for years. It doesn't matter how bad the game is with its terrible repetition and music it is a part of gaming history and should be preserved and it is great to know people like you are doing that. For years I had been searching for a game I played once, no one seemed to know what it was and I found out why and was super happy when I did find it. It was Project Undead from 2001 a game where you had to escape from Zombies. First it was unfinished game with no physical release, so no wonder not many knew about it, and the graphics made it look like a 3D 90s game rather than a game from that time which made me think it was older than it was.
