@@denniscrane9753 yea being color blind kills me all the time. I feel really bad when people ask me what colors I’m doing good on and I tell them and here it’s nowhere near the colors I thought I was using 😔. This was last weekend and now all our spots are no longer safe 2hits with a sour bar straight through. 1 hit and water starts to come through. Next couple weeks not looking good either 😔

Really nice day of ice fishing. Awesome pike. Not every day you catch a translucent crappie.

@@ChesapeakeChris it was a very fun day. This was just last weekend and went and checked ice tonight and it’s all unsafe near me. I’m debating about driving an hour north where I know there’s some safe ice there but not sure yet. Also thinking about taking the kayak out again.

For early ice, my gear is ice picks, rope, bucket with hatchet inside and my rod case, holds four rod and reels plus side pouch with small tackle box. Rod case has a sling for shoulder carry like a rife sling. I never take electronics or auger out on thin early ice. With early ice fish are active, aggressive and on the move, in other words they come to you. Also, early fish are still in the shallows and have not moved to the deep basins for the most part, allowing you to fish close to shore.

@@JamesLee-yw8hk we tried shallow and wasn’t anything there unfortunately. We were hoping to fish 6 fow or less but couldn’t find anything there. I had my spud bar float suit picks and vex with a lithium battery but the vex I left in the truck. The night before when checking ice I didn’t take any electronics at all. We where on roughly 4”
