Sadly the whole covid thing made it hard for me to find a student job and I have already reserved some funds for Tasha's :( In the meantime, I should use more Creature Codex and Tome of Beasts monsters. I only used, like 15 so far.

I must say that, although I like it quite a lot, there are a lot of weird or joke creatures in this one (they were present in ToB1 and CC as well, but not as much) which are just too silly to be of any use.
@MrTarrasque4 жыл бұрын
I kinda agree. And this will be a point in my review
@@jochenpanjaer980 Yeah I agree, I certainly think there's a few but sometimes these creatures are taken from folklore which for me makes them okay. It's probably also worth noting that not everyone plays super serious games all the time, so some of these monsters may have a place at other tables.
@trevorl.43324 жыл бұрын
I should preface this comment by saying that I am a HUGE Kobold Press fan and supporter. I support them on Patreon at a high tier; Ive bought all of their 5e publications (many of them I have bought the physical books, PDFs, and the Roll20 versions, when available, paying for the same book multiple times... because it’s worth it to me). But Honestly, I’m disappointed with ToB2. I feel like so many of the monsters have a super goofy and silly element, like the devs wanted to make jokes out of the monsters. Compared to the original ToB and Creature Codex this new one just doesn’t take itself seriously. And Midgard is a dark fantasy setting, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good creatures and interesting monsters that I’ve already used in my Midgard campaigns (I am DMing two different Midgard campaigns on Roll20), but there are many monsters in there that I will never use. TBh, I think that losing Dan Dillon to WotC was a huge blow to Kobold Press. Dillon is an incredible writer and his contributions to Kobold Press cannot be overstated.

I feel simular. Altough I dont mind a bit of googyness every now and then, the percentage is way higher on this one
