Ashram express is an emotion❤ I'm from Ahmedabad and almost every year me and my family travel by this train to Delhi around 3-4 times... The best train with best time slot ( Departs in the evening and arrives the next morning on both to and fro runs, so that your day time won't be wasted) Good to see Ashram got punctual because we have witnessed it getting late by around 1-3 hours many times.

The legendary ASHRAM Express is a harbinger of Gandhiji's sabarmati ashram in Ahmedabad. So I think the train should be upgraded to its speed with electric locomotive. And the total train coaches should be renovated with new lhb . Its first AC maybe quite old.

Excellent commentary and videography Satya. Glad to see Gurgaon as I lived there before. By the way the increased height of the electric traction in Delhi Jn - Rewari section allows double stacking of containers. However, this posed a challenge in operation of electric locos - they implement the high rise pantograph in the leading mode. Also, the country's only running Steam loco shed is located in Rewari. I had travelled upto Ahmedabad in 1990 or 92,it was a metre gauge train and fastest long journey train in metre gauge at that time.Yes it is legendary train.And it took almost same time to cover the distance as in present time.

Ye route already electrified hai , bas mahesaana Jn. se Ahmedabad wala route under construction hai! I traveled from swarna jayanti rajdhani express from ADI to NDLS and at Ajmer Jn.(AII) it's engine was changed from WDP-7 to WAP-7 ! NICE VLOG

I felt nostalgic as I travelled by Delhi-Ahmedabad mail during the meter gauge era (early nineties) - the travel time used to be about a day. The YDM locos had the characteristic chugging that resembles the ALCOs!
