The game is very fun. There are many weapons and even an exploding barb wire match. When barb wire weapons get used the game gets very bloody. The controls are simple and the matches are short, so it's easy to pick up and play. Some of the weapons include a skateboard, tire, barb wire bat, and many others. Weapons can be pulled from the crowd and from under the ring.

I don't watch AEW so I don't really know many of the characters, other than the WWE people. I play these games for their story mode, and from what I've heard, these two facts make this a pass for me on this game. If it had a great story mode, I thought it would be a good way for me to learn the AEW roster and maybe get into it. Maybe when the price goes down later in the year.

I feel you. I dont watch AEW either, and i just got the game friday. It's fun for what it is, but it gets boring quickly. I can play WWE all day, but i have to limit myself with this game. It's still fun and worth the buy. If you love wrestling, period, it will scratch that itch for something different.

I got the game, and i love it. Still trying to unlock big show in Rte but other then that had alot o fun Did my first two tournaments to crown my first aew world and tnt Champions. Got 2 unexpected finals, for the world it was omega vs Cole with omega winning and for the tnt it was wardlow vs Sammy with Sammy pulling off the huge upset and winning the title. Still got aew world tag team womens world and tbs tournament left to do but overall I'm having a blast with aew fight forever.

​@@girlbossperiodI can tell you haven't actually played the game. It has a few bugs here and there, but it doesn't destroy the gameplay, and gameplay is OUTSTANDING in this game. Especially with friends. 2K23 literally still has glitches and bugs to this day, and STILL has server problems online. Where 2K shines is its extra features and great graphics... but in terms of actual wrestling gameplay, AEW FF wins.

Any criticism you may have is valid but it's not in anyway realistic to compare to WWE 2K who've been building on a 20+ year old engine when they just started. Honestly when you compare it to the last game released by a WWE competitor that being TNA IMPACT which was also released at a premium it has a lot more features we've become accustomed to. Still no one realistically expects a WWE 2K level experience. Though I don't think they were in their right minds to sacrifice creation parts and a CC equivalent to do minigames. Having said that maybe they went the Nintendo Wii route by trying for their own niche because they know they can't compete on raw power. Maybe they're confident they can add to it.

Basically Arcade vs Simulation it’s funny because when it come to any other sport (NBA MLB NFL FIFA etc) everyone would prefer Simulation but ppl hate WWE so much that because their competitor has Acade now everyone hates Simulation style wrestling games… Had the roles been reversed and WWE made arcade style instead of AEW people would complain and say Arcade style isn’t real enough or it’s boring etc.. It's Cool... but definitely not worthy of a $60 price tag I like how they went with the "N64 Wrestling games" Game play but even going back and playing No Mercy recently they've stripped this game down from that. If they did it would only be a part of THIS game. For all future AEW games it would have to be an in-engine game addition because adding stuff in is done on a game to game basis with no guarantee of adding other things not breaking a previous addition. Think of live service games as an example of devs just patching stuff in and in the sequel all that stuff is gone.
