Most of this stuff is planned to be released in upcoming free updates. They revealed the roadmap before the release of the game so I don't get this same " lack of content "argument under every AEW Fight Forever video. If you don't like the game in its current state, then you can just wait and buy it when they release the planned content in upcoming updates. It's really that simple

@Mannyisdatnigga Because releasing new game modes without testing can introduce hundreds of bugs and that's a lot worse than taking your time and releasing them when they're ready to be released. You can tell that they created the game with passion and needed more time to complete and polish it but they had already taken a lot of time and people couldn't wait any longer so they had to release the game in its current state which for many people including myself is totally acceptable. Of course, not everyone was gonna be fine with an unfinished project, which is why they revealed all the details before releasing the game so people can know what they're getting before buying it. And it is also their first game while WWE 2K games took almost a decade to reach a point where they are at the moment. So, you can either wait for your favourite game modes to be released or decide not to buy the game altogether. But I personally hope that the game reaches its full potential in the future and receives the respect it deserves for trying out something new and at least trying to bring back the good old wrestling formula.

I wish they included a mode where you select a belt to go for. Just simple wrestle your way up to the champion to win the title. I used to do that in WCW vs NWO revenge all the time. The closer you got to the title the more difficult it got.

I like the gameplay a lot. Some tweaks to the pin system and more match types will take it to the next level. The new stadium stampede mode also looks fun af. They said they don’t plan on making sequels but to keep patching and updating this version of the game so I feel like they can only go up from here over time.

After a couple months and after playing AEW FF, I revisited 2K23 (I uninstalled it because my data got corrupted... Ugh), but the gameplay felt so much smoother and I felt like I had way more control with options; That wasn't the case when I uninstalled it originally because the game was totally broken upon release. Now that 2K have sorta fixed those issues, I'm kinda gravitating to 2K again (my god, I didn't expect that) But in all fairness, FF is a bunch of fun... for a while

I still use button mashing in 2K23 over the timed meter, the problem with FF is that there's no gauge to let you know how good are your chances of kicking out or escaping a submission hold. If they added one it would make a massive difference, right know kicking out at 2.9 just to get pinned right away after a bodyslam completely ruins immersion.

For a game so set on being like the N64 wrestling games, it's like the people making the game made it off of memory alone and didn't actually go back and play the games. The "career" mode No Mercy was based on you picking a title and following a path to chase it. Ups the downs the wins the losses but ultimately leading to a shot at the title. This career mode is just "shit happens." The only enjoyment I get from it is building my character so I can use him in the regular exhibition and maybe just fantasy book my own stories. I will give them credit, playing Road to Elite is like watching AEW TV. Nothing really seems to matter, things happen in matches that don't matter the following week. So they nailed that.

My favorite games from that series being Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, fantastic game with awesome features not found in AEW FF. The AEW game is fine, it has a solid gameplay base but lacks basic options for wrestling games that have been around for decades. You can’t even search moves by type or damage type. Also, acting like other people are too demanding for asking for basic shit from the genre is nonsense. This game is like buying a new car without a windshield or rear view mirror. Yeah I can drive it but it would be nice to just wait and have those things. For example, the create a wrestler shouldn’t even be in this game yet. They should have done it as a game update when it was a viable addition. The game updates should be additional wrestlers like in fighting games. I’m well aware that updates are coming but that doesn’t stop people from assessing what they got upon release. The arguments against complaining seems to just be “Don’t complain, things are supposed to get better.” We’ll see. First thing they need to do is fix the terrible bugs in the game.

5:15 it's funny because that is just like it is in real life. winning a championship really doesn't mean much in AEW. Once someone wins a championship, they disappear, their momentum chasing the championship is gone and rivalries and storylines involving champions doesn't really happen. the spotlight is mostly on those who are chasing the champions, not the champions themselves. that's a big problem with AEW. examples of champions being used poorly, Adam Page World Champion, Wardlow TNT, Jade TBS, PAC All Atlantic, etc.

The pin system worked on the old AKI games they just seem to have got this wrong, also AKI games would auto kick out when not enough damage. You haven’t got a chance of kicking out once in danger in this after one finisher that sucks. I like button mashing but this needs setting up better and tweaking.

I think they're going to add a lot of stuff afterwards, the game seems like one of those group projects where everyone's working on something different and then the time runs out so the overall group mashes together the bare minimum because they have to present "something". I'm hoping over time they will add the things that weren't ready at launch time (just saw the stadium stampede trailer, that's definitely a good direction). Ideally they're free as well and not DLC because nobody in their right minds would pay 60 bux for what we have now and call it complete.

They're trying so much to make the game ''different'' that they completely forgot it's a wrestling game, when you play the career mode it's like playing The Sims, why would anyone want to go out and eat or workout in a wrestling game? The thing id like to see added more than anything is to have a match length option that would say adjust wrestlers health pools. So if you wanted to have short squash matches you can or if you want a big long epic match you can. Not every match should be a 3 min squash. so they need an option for a long epic where you can pull out all the stops and can kick out of even the most brutal spots.

110% agree. I've been blowing up their feedback that was up on discord about all of this. The game has such good bones but the match flow is not good but could be amazing. Even in HCTP which is very arcady could a match go on for much longer. You could kickout of several finishers if it was earlier enough and whatnot.

I'm with you. I have a lot of fun with Exhibition matches (Lights Out is amazing and thumbtacks are one of the best things ever added to a wrestling game) and the game has limitless potential. But it needs SOOOO much dumped into it from updates...I'm talking like No Man's Sky level of stuff that, a year from now, won't even look like the same game anymore. The upcoming Stadium Stampede could be a big deal if it all plays out as good as it looks (and I'm not an online guy, so that says a lot). But I'd honestly prefer if that was just our backstage area for Exhibition. Can you imagine playing Falls Count Anywhere or Lights Out and being able to go backstage and that ENTIRE stadium area was our playground? Would be insane. A lot of people want more wrestlers, which I'm not opposed to, but I think new features needs to be the priority...I think the roster is solid right now, we can wait on that to get more meat on the gameplay side of things.

One positive thing about career mode being short is that you have to beat it 15 times to unlock all minigames, elite mode and the alternate barbwire death match explosion. It would've been hectic playing it 15 times if it was super long. Even that positive thing isn't that great because most of the minigames are lackluster.

Hopefully AEW's next game will be better, like some kind of hybrid between Fight Forever and WWE 2K, I wouldn't mind. Yuke's owns the schematics for the WWE 2K control scheme up until 2K19, which if they implemented that control layout, they could be better than present day WWE 2K in my opinion. I really like WWE 2k23 but the control scheme from WWE '12 to WWE 2K19 was better and easier to remember.

For me the main thing is the game is dead on PC. There's less than 400 players at any given time so there's no point even trying to play online. If that doesn't change, it's gonna die for players like me no matter how much I enjoy it otherwise.

Kenny Omega had waay too much input. To the point he butted heads with Yukes development team. Tony Khan also had strict budget for the game. To the point it really handcuffed what Yukes is capable off. People need to stop giving excuses just because its the first AEW game. If a wrestling game cannot meet the standards set not just by the 2k games. But the previous WWE and Smackdown games THQ published. As well as what you can do in Fire Pro Wrestling World. Then you shouldnt bother releasing the game at $60.

I never played a worse career mode. Honestly I even felt 2K15’s career mode was better and the game as a whole even if the game play was sluggish in 2K15. The modes and content are sadly lacking. Personally, I think they’re only trying to appeal to online players.

I think this is fine for their first game. They need to decrease price to 30 usd and in updates they need to remove some no mercy features specially make sure matches are longer. Every match finish in around 2-3 min.

It would've been nice if there was more for the game to offer. For example, more match types. I know they were trying to have the No Mercy feel to this game, but No Mercy had more to offer. Backstage areas to fight in, a Steel Cage match, etc. Would've been nice to have stipulations like that added as well. Tables match, Last Man Standing, etc. You can only do the Lights Out Match so many times before it feels a little dull.

It will give it some renewed hype and fun for a week or so until people get bored of the same old rinse and repeat over and over again. The game holds no depth and little replayability. Online hackers are already prevalent in the game on all consoles, won't be long before they start cheating and ruining the stadium stampede mode for others. But it will get very stale very quickly. There not enough in this game to keep people interested, the stampede mode will fizzle out too. If it was a match type, like the actual event, like an all access backstage hard-core match type and not an online battle royale mode I think that would've been a little better. But still not enough to bring back its already massively dwindling player base.

@@georgeh4171 I agree, it's sold just over 30,000 copies since release, that's a disaster for aew and thq. Once the updates are sent out this year the developers will give up om this game just like they did with elite gm mode. There's no money in it for them. And the stadium stampede match is already a guaranteed fail. With online averaging around 70 to 100 players online per day globally, compared to the 2000+ players at release, there won't be enough people playing aew to start a stadium stampede match. I find it very difficult to find matches online now as it is. It's impossible to find a 4 way, battle royale or minigame match because you can never find 4 people playing at the same time. This game could've been something great, but the danger signs for aew are already here. This game will be left in the dust by January.

the game is fun, they need to tweak some things, I hate not having a kick out system, maybe make it a bit harder to fill the spirit meter, but they have been very transparent about this game being built upon over time, with new modes, match types and customization, I don't thing custom logos will ever be a thing, because this game will live and die with dlc, since it's not filled with micro transactions, as for road to elite, I think it depends on who you use, played it 3 times, 1st with cody, 2nd with ricky starks, and then with jericho, 1st play through, had a feud with death triangle, 2nd play through, had a feud with inner circle, and the 3rd I joined the dark order, I had handicap matches and a multi man ladder match, so those matches are already in the game I just don't know why they aren't available in exhibition yet, but I do like what I saw when they showed off the stadium stampede match today.

eh, They didn't make it enough like No Mercy. The signature rework and how the spirit meters works is all changed from the AKI formula. A lot of the FF gameplay is anchored around someone landing a signature and it snowballs after that. A lot of the complaints about the matches ending too quickly after a finisher has to do with the changes they made, the older games weren't like that. Signatures shouldn't be match ending moves and the spirit meter should fluctuate more. The running and all that is fine, they don't want people to be able to run around in circles and be cheesy.

1. The pin/submission system is indeed shit and needs work. That said, everyone was complaining ONE year ago about WWE 2K’s pin system also being shit. 2. Not being able to have more than 4 people in a match at once annoyed me at first, but within a couple minutes I was fine with it because I can’t imagine how fucking annoying it would be having 5+ people in the ring at the same time. Personally I’m fine with it the way it is for that reason alone. With that said, I’m thoroughly enjoying the game. I’m surprised so many people seemed to expect so much more out of this game, especially the creation suite. 2K has had many years to build their creation suite up to what it is now, whereas this is AEW’s first game. Some of you clearly have unrealistic expectations. Of course I want more out of this game and can see areas where it could be improved, but I’m about 40 hours in and still having a great time.
