One feature I wish smart locks would have is a proximity sensor that senses when the door is open or closed. Many times over the last few years the auto-lock feature on my smart lock has started to engage while the door is open, causing the deadbolt to slam into the door frame when closing. What should happen is that a proximity sensor senses that the door is open, and sends you an alert that the door is open when the auto-lock feature is supposed to kick in. Whenever a good homekey lock that has this feature as well comes out I would be happy to upgrade!

Is that safe for sure? I mean, no cylinder lock change... You just insert the key inside... So anybody smashes it and gets the key of your home... Am I wrong?

Bro the safety of a lock is not in the software… it’s in the actual bolt. How big is the physical bolt which locks the door ??

Bro this lock has no bolt. You use the existing lock and the only thing this device does is turn the key.

Lock is fine but Express mode doesn't work. I still have to use face ID. Any suggestions?

Maybe I should have gotten that one. I bought the Schlage one with homekey support. It worked great for a week, then the homekey just stops working. I re-set up the Schlage with my Home app. Again, works great for a week and then stops. Same issue with both my Apple Watch and iPhone, along with my wife's devices.

* Apple HomeKey would NOT work without first pressing a key if the Keypad is on battery. You NEED to have it connected to power for it to work like in the video.

My keypad is on batteries, and home key works flawless without pressing any key on the keypad, iphone and Apple Watch.

Any idea why it works with my iphone but not my Apple Watch? I can hold my watch up to the lock for any amount of time and nothing happens. iPhone works perfectly though.

Seniors sometimes have bad fingerprint read success rates so Home Key is great for that. Also, it feels so futuristic.
