Jade :: when I was in the south of France solo traveling I saw a really cute french guy at a bus stop, and I went to great lengths to get him my number (the bus arrived before I could) and we eventually had a lovely evening together but I was leaving for paris the next day so I said au revoir forever but he kept texting me french things like “now that I know you exist I don’t know how to go on living my life” etc so on my last day in europe I booked him a spontaneous flight to paris and we spent the night galavanting around town and kissing at the Eiffel Tower. Eventually we got married, steps away from where we met. SOLO TRAVEL LOVE STORIES THAT ARE CINEMATIC DO ACTUALLY HAPPEN EVERYONE! So once quarantine is lifted go out there and see who there is to meet. You never know who’s waiting at a bus stop for you.

@Charlotte-ji3vl4 жыл бұрын
@@thedarkphoenix1640 I'm not congratulating her not losing her virginity I'm congratulating the bravery it takes to talk about it, especially in a society that tends to shame people over "losing their virginity". yes virginity is a load of nonsense especially in a world where not everyone has hetero sex but talking about it to a large platform when people are still judged for it and talking about it in a grown up way with no shame or bragging about it (people esp women are often shamed in both ways) is quite a big thing.

It’s so hard to break things off with people, even when you’re not in an actual relationship. I’m a people pleaser and I hate upsetting people. It hurts when you do and it hurts when you don’t, so it’s kinda a lose lose in my experience. I’ve learnt a lot of lessons because I had a long distance relationship, it ended 3 years ago and he passed away in a car accident recently, along with 3 other people I care about in the space of a month. It’s hard to balance just wanting to be friends with someone who wants more, if you give more, they get hopeful, but if you give less, you miss them as a friend and it hurts so badly when they’re gone.

Okay Jade, you inspired me to travel all of Europe last year. And like you, I found someone! We were in Venice Florence and Rome at the same times, and we met in Florence having similar paths all the way along! We met in Rome again for another night where we just fell for each other. Her name is Mary Jane, she's American, I'm from the UK. We kept in touch, I flew out to see her last December, we're officially a couple, and I'm taking her back to Florence someday! You inspired me to go travelling, you inspired me to push myself and meet new people, and I owe it to you that I met this girl that I now care dearly for. Thank you Jade 💕 I really want her to see this, it would mean the world to help me out 🥺

I suggest EVERYONE to take at least a couple of months to travel alone somewhere. It is such an incredible experience to meet travel buddies in the hostels and explore on your own. You really learn how to become independent and how to trust your gut. People might say that taking a gap year will discourage you from going back to school/uni, but that is not true at all! I was extremely excited and motivated after my travels, and I felt more sure of myself in terms of what I wanted to do with my life. Travelling gives you a lot of time for self-reflection

Aw this was so cute Jade! Sounds magical. I have a few stories like this, but this one is kinda funny. It's just...hilariously awkward to me. I went solo travelling in Australia for six months a couple of years ago and there was this really cute guy I met at the hostel I was staying at. This hostel was absolutely incredible, I've never been anywhere like it. It was like we were all just this big family, everyone in the whole hostel knew each other and we'd drink together each night, and every new person who came in we'd welcome and try our best to get to know everyone. Anyway, I thought this guy had a girlfriend and that he was straight...BUT. It turned out this girl he was travelling with was just his friend, and to be honest I think he might have just been curious. He kept sending me these messages after he left the hostel asking if I wanted to meet, and I kind of thought nothing of it, but I invited him round for a night to chill at the hostel. We were on the rooftop and he was just being super flirty with me all night, and I thought he was gorgeous so I was all for it. Later in the night he ended up kissing me in the living room area and all of my mates were there, and although the kiss was great, I just felt awkward making out with this guy in front of all my friends. So I asked if he wanted to go upstairs instead. We went upstairs and literally none of the rooms were free and I didn't know what to do, so stupidly, in the spur of the moment, I was like 'Let's go to the bathroom!', I was kind of drunk, I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, we got in there and it was so bright, like you know when you go into a falafel/kabab place on a night out and it's like the brightest lights ever just glaring down at your drunk self, staring into your soul, sobering you up. So we started kissing, and I slipped on the wet floor and our teeth just clanged together and it was SO. awkward. All of the 'romance' if you can even call it that was just sucked out of the room, and the moment just died a horrible death. He was like 'I'm not feeling this...' and I was like yeah fair enough, and we just went back down to the party and pretended nothing happened. I still laugh about it now when I think about it. So yeah, yours definitely wins! ;)

AhHHh this just brought all the memories back from when I first met my girlfriend :') went on a school trip to Belgium lowkey thinking it was going to be a bit crappy (a week spent with kids from all around EU, living in a host family... I was very confused as to how it would go). Ended up spending more and more time with the British and Portugese groups and on the last day we visited Brussels and the EU parliament. It ended up just being the two of us afterwards and we explored the city together, just chatting and holding hands (my heart melts every time i think of how she asked me if she could). We were kind of cuddling on the train back and then kissed that night. Both thought the other one would be the one that got away but I think we were both determined for that not to be the case. Follow your gut on these things tho! I've honestly done the same as you in the past Jade.

i loved watching this video and hearing your story. btw during my gap year i also had my own "fling". i met my future boyfriend on a ski competition, while doing something i love and feel very passionate about. i went there just to fullfill my plan, but instead the most beautiful miracle has happened to me. 2 weeks after the competition we met up and since than we have never stopped seeing eachother. i love him so much and thanks to your inspiring videos from that time i had the courage to step out of my comfort zone, take a risk and feel worthy of being loved and appreaciated. jade, you are a great girl, i love your videos, and thank you for inspiring me and others to live our own way and become better.

Watching this realizing that I would never dare to spontaneously follow a girl for fear to be considered a creep. All sorts of feelings collide: love, pity, jealousy, shame. But honestly, it's such a lovely story, even though it ended in my absolute nightmare (ghosting). I just love the glow it brings to your face when telling it two years later. Dankjewel voor je prachtige, openhartige verhaal.

I wanted to hear this story since the travel vlogs, but I did’t expect to learn a lesson about being a people pleaser from it. This was kinda eye-opening. Missed gap year Jade:)

"Sometimes being a people pleaser means not be honest with yourself..." Thanks for that.. that phrase has resonated with me a lot, because reflects something that happens to me very often..

Honestly, managing expectations and being open and honest with people you're romantically/sexually involved with is so important. Something that romantic movies don't really highlight.

Omg my gosh this story was so sweet! Weirdly enough I went through a similar-ish story while on my year abroad where the guy ended up slowly ghosting me so while I didn't come here expecting anything more than a cute story update from Jade, hearing you explain your point of view and how you felt about slowly distancing yourself from someone who you know liked you more than you liked him was really helpful for me to make peace with my past. Thank you Jade & wish you a lovely week

I totally get the end of the video too - I just had a breakup and I'm finding it hard to stop messaging him because we are still friends, but I know it's not right and it wasn't a successful relationship, and it's better to just be clear about things! :)

Jade, so happy that you enjoyed Vienna. Your day in Vienna reminds me of the film 'Before Sunrise' in which the two main characters spend one day spontaneously exploring Vienna and then part ways. I'd really recommend this film, for anyone who hasn't seen it. Also: do you remember the restaurant's name? Greetings from Vienna :)

I loved this story!! I’ve had a few romantic adventures while I was doing au pair in London, and it was one of the best moments of my life. That’s what I miss about traveling all by myself, I like to meet new people, new guys and have unique and exclusive moments with each one of them!
@rishikamalwankar74834 жыл бұрын
Also! Just wanted to add: Youre not a terrible person for accidentally leading the guy on. Sometimes we’re not certain why we want to continue something even if we know deep down you don’t see it going anywhere. Maybe it’s out of fear, who knows, only you would x But you definitely did the right thing, Of course maybe not In the right way of being wishy washy but that’s how you learn and eventually become a better person💫Good Luck in finding the right person and I really hope to see another storytime once you’ve met them😜✨

Awww I relate to this so much. I also went solo travelling around Europe when I was 18 too, and I had a similar "movie-like, whirlwind romance" in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The guy liked me more than I liked him, and it wasn't that I didn't like him, it was more that I wasn't looking for that right then. So I also gradually started to ghost his messages even though he said he would move to the UK for me etc etc. Hearing your story makes me feel quite empathetic for the guy in those situations, but also, somethings just aren't meant to be.
