Finally Testing Out My NEW Demon 170 Engine! I Did NOT Expect This!

After my Demon 170 had to have it's engine replaced, I have been very cautious about getting the car back out to the racetrack. After meticulously breaking in the new engine, I decided it was time to get the car back out and see just how healthy the new engine is. Will I blow it up or will it perform admirably? Watch and see what happens.

That's excellent! That engine sounds REALLY healthy. With the original engine you could hear bogging right off launch like the computer was pulling timing and/or fuel.

Unsprung weight adds up so fast. Sprung weight sure 100lbs= .1 off. But wheels, tires, brakes. The weight you shed there gives even more results. I have seen with those 3 things say 150lbs dropped a car gain a few tenths. To be exact by memory i think .3 and 3mph.

100 lbs = .1 seconds on cars that run in the 13-16 second range. Cars that run in the 9's won't gain .1 second. Top fuel cars running in high 3 second range won't gain .1 if they shed 100 lbs.

As you know you can have 2 identical Demon 170s and one will be much better then the other. I think the replacement motor is spot on.

Those runs were awesome. You could see the wheelies on the launch from the in car and the motor sounded crisp running. Congrats brother, you deserve it. In that Florida humidity those runs were awesome.

Neat to see the contrast between the Trackhawk run and the Demon runs. The Trackhawk looked like grandmas SUV running down the strip compared the Demon 170. Amazing how much more violent a two second faster vehicle can be. Beyond just maybe adding pie cutters to the front I'd leave it alone till you get to run in the cooler air. Good runs!

@@RacerX9 Never ran at Bradenton. In the mid 90's I ran a 360 Duster Pro Street setup for the time to an 11.21 at Bithlo. Amazing how much temps and elevation effects 1/4 mile times.
