They fixed the seat tearing issues in the 05-06 models. That's why there are two stitch lines, the 02-04 had a single stitch across the middle that would stretch and tear.

I love my RSX! I've had it for ten years, with 300k miles and zero plans to get rid of it. The styling still looks great, it's super practical, the interior design is one of my favorites of any car I've seen (double-DIN really helps it out, too), and of course the K is an epic engine family with infinite potential. Subbed to see what you do with yours. Mods I'd immediately recommend are to address the shortcomings of the front MacPherson struts. The "compliance bushing," the big one on the front LCA, is prone to quick failure just from how big the thing is and completely ruins the feel of the front end; check the condition of yours, there is of course the urethane (and probably spherical bearing) replacement options. Due to the front struts, lowering the car can result in bad bump-steer; there are steering rack risers out there to correct the angle of the tie rods, as well as billet sliders to tighten up the steering feel (the OEM plastic wears out).

It needed a K24 for the factory.. The K24 makes the Dc5 a completely different car for the street and its a night and day better motor for daily driving. The added torque is sooo nice. I always hated waiting til almost 6k to get any type of power out of this car. The K24 fixes all of that. I have the best of both worlds too with the Type R K20A head and the JDM K24A bottom end from an RBB3 model. Using a custom 40 degree VTC and have the ported K20 pump so I am hitting 8500 with zero issues. Made 250whp/205wtq on the dyno.

I'm pretty sure it's been said already, but as a fellow DC5 driver: Poly bushings and the SHG delrin slider are a must especially if you wanna build a canyon carver. Everything else comes to personal taste and tuning. Can't wait to see what you have planned for your car

Once you get to the coilover stage you should consider some Tein's, Skunk2's or something in that similar range. Truharts are decent "budget" coilovers as you obviously know but if you want the great handling you talkked about I'd personally recommend the Teins. More expensive but it's absolutely worth it, and I believe they do have a cheaper option too but the Flex Z's are absolutely amazing.

He shouldnt get coilovers on a Dc5... they should b last resort. He can easily get Type R shocks that are better than most aftermarket options in the 1K and below range and they have better shocks. They provide about a 1 inch drop and are stiff enough to handle corners well. You can get used Type R shocks in great shape for like $400-600

@ALLDAYANTHONY I own my DC5 ITR for 4y now and started modding it from the start. Bassicly it's the same as a type S. For bumpsteer don't waste money on inverted tierod ends or a rack raiser if u're not slamming it. I learned the hard way wasting my money on these. I'm running extended LCA balljoints, a stiffer SHG rackslider and bushings to increase castor. This did the trick for my bumpsteer. My ITR is setup for trackday's currently running a staggered setup with 255's up front with -3° camber. Adjustable tierods are needed for this amount of camber because the stock ones are a bit long. In the back i'm running 235's at -2° camber. I drive it accasionaly on the street and have to say that it torquesteers, tramlines and can be very darty. But it's predictable as you get used to it and has a ton of grip compared to stock. you just can't have a fast track setup and a compfy street setup at same time with these chassis. do your research on coilovers because the difference in spring rate front and back is important to let the car rotate as much as possible. I'm running 9Kg up front and 16Kg springs in the back and for the moment the stock (ITR) swaybars are fine. best of luck with your new car 👍 Excuse my english...

These like the 8th gen Civic Si 1st gen TSX and others, have a delay valve in the master and slave cylinder. Highly recommend replacing with the hybrid racing master/slave kit. There is video on KZbin about setting up suspension on an EP3 (it’s a blue EP3 and an Asian guy explains what he done to the suspension and why) you should give it a watch to get an idea. As an owner of many Honda’s/Acura’s the 7th gen Civics and RSX Type S suspension design is tricky to set up to handle, (especially compared to what you’re used to with your Civic) but can be set up to handle well. The steering rack placement is a big issue so research research and research! Super excited to see the content coming for this! (Also I know it will be expensive but you should REALLY throw an Mfactory or Quaife LSD in this thing while you have the transmission out replacing the clutch It will drastically improve the way the car handles/responds/feels.)

The EM1 CMC/CSC is a more reliable part to put on than the EM2. I definitely recommend an 11lb flywheel if you’re keeping it NA for sure it’s hard to describe how much better it feels. Hybrid racing shifter cables and an acuity short shifter are also, IMO, must haves
