We try the most unbelievable vegan fillet steak today from Juicy Marbles in Waitrose.
It’s the most amazing vegan meat I’ve ever had.

I used to order them from Slovenia and it was a lot more expensive. £10 for two is a bargain tbh!😃 Also, after experimenting with different fats I found that that cook best on vegan ghee from Fushi. I looked with peppercorn sauce (BBC recipe with OXO no beef stock) and hasselback potatos (baked with I am nut ok rosemary butter) 😀👍🏻

More expensive than £10!!! That must have been very pricey haha and wow this is a great idea!

Hey, I’m glad I mentioned these marble steaks to you in one of your videos recently. I’ve made you and your family very happy!! I’m excited to try now… I’m not sure if Waitrose are going to keep these in stock permanently or if it’s just a Valentines ‘Dine In’ offer…. I am transitioning to plant food, although have not eaten red meat for sometime now… hats off to Waitrose for giving such a great alternative!

@@YourVeganFoodExplorer I hope so… it seems expensive but it isn’t when you look at what the cost of a beef steak is! I am thinking about making two mini beef Wellington with them. But will try them plain first. It’s a great breakthrough when a product is launched like this. I wish I could find a vegan cheese that is not loaded with coconut oil. I make a vegan Mozzarella myself and it’s good. But I crave strong cheese but want it low in saturated fat. Have you tried Nush cream cheese? I use that all the time….

Me too, it’s crazy! It’s interesting as some vegans don’t actually like or want the texture/taste of meat; whereas others like myself liked meat but don’t want all the negative effects on animals/environment etc that come with non-vegan meat!

Not all vegans go vegan because they don’t like the taste of meat, some do for ethical reasons/ health reasons/ environmental reasons, so they still want to taste the meat without hurting animals :)

@@Lily-nx5bw I guess I understand a little better you’re opposed to taking the innocent life of an animal. But that same logic could be applied to plant life as well after all they are living breathing organisms also. I promise I’m not trying to be funny, we should try to be more understanding of other people’s lifestyles and choices and the only way to do that is by learning and asking questions. The world is so divided over simple things like this and I think the more we learn about each other the better we can coexist.

Hey mate thanks for reaching out and to echo points above: 1: most vegans went vegan not because they don’t like flavour of meat, but because they don’t want to kill animals. 2: Animals have central nervous systems and are sentient. Plants don’t and are not. 2a: Also did you know that 71% of crop farmland in Europe is used to grow animal feed. So actually if you care about plants feelings you’re better eating vegan as you will ‘kill’ far less plants.

This is the most disgusting thing I have ever cooked, kept it down for about 10 minutes before I threw it up. Tasted like weird Tuna couldn't even finish one and ate half a lemon to get rid of the taste of it. As a meat eater if this is the best plant based meat you can get I can only offer my sympathies,

There's obviously just as many varieties in vegan "meat" as there are for real meat. And just like real meat not every single kind of vegan substitute will "meat" your taste haha.... ha Sorry bout that. So yeah best to not be ignorant and dismiss the entire concept of vegan meat just because you had one bad experience which may or may not also have to do with your own cooking skill. The same argument could easily be turned around because my first experience with Eisbein was absolutely horrendous. Real meat must be sooo awful.🤮 See what I did there?

The issue I have is that these must be made to try and get meat eaters onto vegan alternatives, as surely no vegan/vegetarian who’s been eating that way their whole life or for most of it, would be interested in something that resembles dead animal. For a meat eater this simply cannot replace a decent steak like a ribeye, there’s just no comparison no matter how you cook it. Can see it working in a pie, or as a bbq pulled ‘beef’ recipe, wellington maybe. Would definitely need some sort of sauce.

Just can't understand that if someone doesn't want to eat meat, why do you want to eat things that look like meat? Not only that, but what they have to do to the plants to make it look like that.
@YourVeganFoodExplorer
@YourVeganFoodExplorer Жыл бұрын
You’re making this way too easy for me: can you imagine what they do to a COW to make it look like a BURGER??! 🤣 give me the plants everyday. I quit eating meat because I didn’t like that an animal had to die for me to eat it. I didn’t stop liking the taste of meat. Surely that’s quite simple logic to follow?

@trashaimgamer7822

@@snowy5628I mean said animal wouldn't have lived in the first place if it weren't raised to be eaten. What you think all of a sudden farmers will raise animals out of the goodness of their heart? Of course not, they'll simply stop the moment it is no longer profitable. That said for me personally it is not how the animals die but how poor their living conditions are due to mass demand. If we can get to a point were meat production get's reverted to how it was 200 years ago, that'll already be a win.
