There is a big difference between the Chinese works and the black contractors.
@mdl90968 ай бұрын
The Chinese have more expertise in building roads and bridges than Jamaicans. The Chinese built the Railroads in Canada.

You said the end of the year for the completion of this road work realy, one year that a long time
@davidclayton28838 ай бұрын
The local contractors seem to be improving. They were very bad in the beginning. It seems as if they are learning from the Chinese. Some were hopeless and had to be removed. Hopefully, the remaining contractors will be able to work to international standards at some point.

The lack of communication with nwc and the cable company etc is very slack always digging up the road

I'm of the view that the unprofessional nature of the planning, execution and delivery of the road improvement project, untrained/unskilled workers and supervisors, unethical and unsafe practices/policies, is quite alarming and obvious. Underestimating cost overruns, lack of time management, misuse of public funds, the unaccountable nature and distribution/use of resources, the long delays, poor planning and execution of duties, the mismanagement of the NWA, parish council and the NWC (to name a few), are some f the reasons why the citizenry have paid a hefty price for which it will take years for them to see the complete benefits of their tax paid dollars. Is it fair and should there excuses or accountability? The road network in certain areas have taken this long and still has a lot to be accomplished. Are there lessons to be learnt from this as we reflect on the positive and negative experiences of anticipating a promised and improved road for motorists and pedestrians? We must embrace change and development with teething pains but our government must get it right. Time is of essence! Thanks my brother for your very unique nature of blogging! Salute Hugh! This is an editorial!

If we as license drivers were educated and following The Road Code and observing all Rd Signs and also obey the signals of other drivers, we would have fewer accidents. 🇯🇲🚥💦🌞⛽🐕🏡🚴😲

The highway between Port Antonio and Negril was built by a French company. It will take a few years for the local contractors to get to that level. Time will tell if they have the ability to improve their techniques with each project.

I DON'T REMEMBER , PLEASE REMIND ME, UNDER WHOSE WATCH HARBOUR VIEW TO PORT ANTONIO LEG OF HIGHWAY 2000 WAS ESTABLISHED ? ????

Thank you for this extensive update. I see there is a lot of work taking place but it's also still a long way to go before the work is finish. It's taking too long though for JPS to remove those light poles that are still in the roadway which in turn slows down the pace and progress on the road. Overall though it's slowly getting there.
