I have a massive fear of anaesthetic after being pinned down and anaesthetised for dental procedures as a kid so my heart goes out to the poor little guy, I know how rough it is and going through it must have been so hard for him. Honestly the best way I've had to deal with it over the years was nitrous first and then the IV to go under. It minimises the need to restrain anyone which can make it a little easier. Either way as he gets older and can manage anxiety around it better hopefully anything like that will be easier for him. Rest up and feel better dude!

that happened to me when i was getting braces at 19, one of my baby canine teeth wasn’t falling out and my parents were like oh that’s an adult tooth. but when i was getting braces they were like .. no that’s a baby tooth and your adult tooth is stuck so i got it out with my wisdom teeth and had a chain attached to pull the adult tooth down. so proud of kyson for being as brave as he was!!!!

I’ve had 12 baby teeth extracted for the same reason! It’s some of the worst pain I’ve been through. Poor guy :( ibuprofen was a lifesaver! Good luck Kyson!

Bless his heart. I was bit by a dog at 3 or 4. I had to have all of the rabies shots because they took their dog out of the state and refused to bring him home. Anyways, I had to be held down to get all of the shots in my abdomen. I am 64 and still terrified of needles. Be hugs to him. Happy birthday Chris!

My husband ordered a new Ford 250 in November and they’re so backlogged that if they can’t fill the order by July, he’ll have to try for a 2023 because they stop current year production in July. Congrats Chris and Happy Birthday!

My daughter had a needle phobia all her life. She us 30 and just in the last 3 years or so has she been able to get blood done without almost passing out. When she was little I was thrown out of a dentist office because she freaked out. Sadly I could never get her to go into a dentist office. You know how bad of a mother that made me feel like. But if she saw the building she had a panic attack. She is married and her husband helped her get thru a lot of her fears and thus tear she gas now started taking care of her teeth. She is getting fillings and cleanings. I'm so proud of her. She has come so far to allow a dentist to give her shots. Please don't be to mean to me about not getting my kid to go to the dentist. You don't realize how bad her panic attacks were. I feel so bad I couldn't make her get past it already.

I had a similar issue with a canine tooth. My adult tooth was pushing its way through my gums, but not pushing on my baby tooth for it to fall out. I ended up having it pulled. I had an awful experience. I have an additional nerve on some of my teeth, and need a significant amount of freezing in these areas. This canine tooth is one of these areas. They pulled it after a whole syringe of freezing. Unfortunately I felt the ENTIRE thing. I’m glad Kyson was able to do this relatively pain free.

definitely feel for kyson! when i got braces in high school i had 5 baby teeth that had to be removed and trying the procedure with me awake was NOT happening. i also have some really severe medical anxiety and the dentist that was set to do my procedure was a peds dentist and was still soooo mean to me when i was having a panic attack. my mom was also not there so i was alone in the room and they all seemed really irritated with me and it made it more scary. the doctor that ended up doing my surgery while i was asleep was so nice and they even called to check on me afterwards. glad to see that you understand his fears, my parents were much more annoyed at me than you seem!

Kyson is so lucky to be able to get treated and have an amazing mom. When I was 1 year old, I fell on hard tile and one of my baby teeth got stuck in my gums. It was really bad but since things weren't so modern then, there was really nothing we could do. But as soon as it started to show again when I was 7, I pulled that sucker out😅

Hope recovery goes well! I am getting surgery soon I have to fly to Seattle to see a specialist, I have labral taring! I have the same fear as him I hate needles and I had to have an MRI and they had to put color in my hip to get a clearer image of what was going on!

Hi Jess, I know I’m 2 days late and I don’t normally comment but I wanted to say that this happened to me in high school, one of my canine teeth didn’t come in and the doctors said it wasn’t going to and I also needed surgery to get it out. Because of various circumstances, my parents never got around to making the appointment for about a year and it grew in by itself. I know the surgery is done now but for future reference in case it happens again. So awesome that Kyson is ok now!!

It was described to me as rare. Surgeon told us 1-3%… I guess it depends on how you define rare?

@@JesssFam not caring either way... but common is 1-10%, uncommon 0.1-1%, rare 0.01-0.1%.... etc. I work in orthodontics and I would say we see this pretty regularly! Still a big deal to be put under though! Good job Kyson!

The doctors here must use that term lightly I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ What’s crazy is that after the surgery, when we went for a follow up… I’ll talk about it more in an upcoming video, but they discovered a defect in 2 of his teeth. His dentist said he has never seen a case of in his entire career. They tied it altogether making it feel even more rare, but again I guess it depends on how you define it haha! 😂

I had 3 baby teeth that didn’t fall out, good u caught it early. I got braces at 14 and then had to get double jaw surgery at age 19 to fix my asymmetry!!

Hey Jess, you obviously know you kids best, but if Kyson needs to be anesthetized again, let them know that he was nauseous afterwards. It’s a common symptom, but they will provide medications to help with it!
