For some context, Newt Scamander is The Newt Scamander who wrote the main care of Magical Creatures textbooks they use at Hogwarts during the Harry Potter series. He was a pioneer in the field from what I understand, hence most people being unfamiliar or skeptical of him and his work at this time

they did Grindelwald dirty in the harry potter series sorta.. the scene where Voldemort asks and tortures him to give him info on where the elder wand is.. in the book he refuses to give up the secret costing him his life (which built more of his character and what he stood for), in the movie he straight up tells him..

The trilogy is definitely worth watchin, especially if you want to stay a little longer in the Harry Potter Universe ❤ Newt is so lovable from the very first scene he is introduced. His love for magical creatures is unparalleled. Poor Jacob got sucked into this magical conspiracy and he held his own ground throughout the entire movie. It was really heartwarming to see how an outcast like Newt formed such a beautiful friendship with Jacob. That Niffler is an absolute menace, nothin shiny is safe from its grubby little paws 😂 The "Second Salem" group is creepy as hell. Much more insidious than the typical Death Eaters we've seen in the HP movies. Come to think of it, the americans in general have a much more strenuous relationship when it comes to wizards/witches and regular people. The moment Jacob saw Queenie - love at first sight. The movie is worth watchin just for their relationship and interactions. The introduction of Newt's suitcase - and the menagerie he hosts in it - that sells you on the movie by itself, it's such a beautiful scene. Queenie really came in clutch, the way she got Jacob out of trouble was smooth. Credence got dealt a terrible hand from all sides. His adoptive "mother" tormented him, Grindelwald used him and to top it all off, he ends up desintegrated by the Aurors. It's no wonder he turned into an Obscurius and the disaster he inflicted upon the city - a tormented soul lashing out at those around him. Newt's kind words was all Credence needed - someone who cares for him. Tina's influence was powerful by itself, just because of that one instance when she tried to help him. Grindelwald revealing himself to the Aurors and the ease with which he was holding them off until Newt intervened - that's a little taste of just how powerful he is. Frank really saved the day, with the rain he started. It hits you straight in the feels - a character like Jacob, which served through much of the movie as comic relief, delivers such incredibly sad lines right before being obliviated by the rain. The fact that Queenie shows up at the end, in his bakery, and a part of him recognizes her - that's a really beautiful ending. Your post reaction discussion has been on point. It does feel new, as opposed to the more classic feeling of the HP movies but the magical feeling that drew you to the HP movies - that is in this movie too. Maybe not in the grand moments like the fighting scenes, but when you see Newt's interactions with the creatures, the friendship between him and Jacob - that's part of the HP magic. I really liked this series. The accusations made by Depps ex-wife really hurt everything as the negative things she said was initially believed by the public. That hurt the box office for the 2nd movie and of course they replaced Depp altogether for the third movie and that one was a total failure at the box office sadly they are not likely to make a 4th movie. Perhaps they will continue this story with a series on one of the streaming services. I was quite fond of Jude Law as a younger Dumbledore.

yes there are currently 3 fantastic beasts movies, 5 are / where too be made, but the 4th movie currently has faceplanted head first into a brick wall at the moment, i do not know if they are going to even try to continue or if the fantastic beasts series has it's final nail the the coffin.

In the 90s, even if your parents died, you will receive a letter of admission to the school of magic. Even the whole Hagrid will be sent for you to buy everything. In America of the 20s, the Ministry will not know about you, even if you are already old enough to graduate. Of course, the fact that there is a society in the city that hates magic and tries to reveal to the world the truth that magic exists worries the Ministry even less. Did someone say that forcing a child to live in a closet under the stairs is cruel? So, in America in the 20s, children wizards are naturally beaten with a belt. And no one is worried about it. And the only girl who decided to stop this outrage, we will transfer from the police to the level of issuing a license for a wand. But the most interesting thing is justice. In the 90s, if you did something illegal, you will be judged. And even Dumbledore will be your lawyer at the trial. In America in the 20s, if you unintentionally missed a couple of animals... you will be sentenced to death without trial in a couple of minutes and one interrogation, by the decision of one person. And besides, the girl who didn't do anything bad at all will be sentenced along with you. And after that, is anyone surprised that blond revolutionaries appear in the world of wizards who want to change this system?

There is a lot more context for people who read the harry potter books they explain about grindelwald. He is how dumbledore got famous in his duel with himand was the dark wizard before voldamort, also as you guessed the kid who stole the elder wand which dumbledore won frim him in the duel. Dumbledore and he were also best friends when around 20 yrs old. The thieving ceature is niffler which was actually introduced in order of the pheonix by hagrid in a care of magical creatures leason, they search out valuables. Fred and george actually put one into umbredges office

Fun fact Donuts and pretzels came to the US thanks to Polish Jews who had emigrated there before World War I and there were even more of them before World War II because they were fleeing from the Germans. This is the time between World War I and World War II in this film and Kowalski was a child of Polish refugees, as indicated by his Polish surname, appearance and donuts, in which he was a specialist. For me, he was a true hero because he showed all the characteristics that I have.

Harry potter 1 & 3 foretold certain things in this movie in 3 when looking at the map harry was given you see the main character newt in dumbledore's office also in harry potter 1 when on the hogwarts express on the back of dumbledore's card it was said a duel between dumbledore and grindelwald (johnny depp) and a few other instances in the harry potter franchise

Fun Fact: Dumbledore's sister, Ariana was also an obscurus. She turned so due to being bullied and molested by a group of muggles at a very young age when they saw her doing some random magic that cant be controlled at a young age. This is why Dumbledore's father was sent to askaban, because he went after those muggles. This also plays a major hand as in why Ariana died at a young age.

Had the series kept to the idea of exploring the Wizarding World outside of the British Isles and on magical creatures, it could have maintained interest. It's when the series tries to tie itself closer to the Harry Potter storyline that caused it to stumble.

With Johnny Depp playing Grindewald having the Elder Wand with him, he is the most powerful dark wizard in the wizarding world saga, Voldemort is nothing in comparison. MACUSA, Jedi Order and the Senate, The Doctor Who and companions, superheroes of some Marvel and DC multiverses, all are thinking what they are doing is for the greater good instead of realizing the fact of what damages they have done to the wrong lives including these so-called "villains" who at least some of them are sincerely broken. Part 1 is really good. Part 2 is still okay-ish. Part 3 is meh. I mean they tried but the whole Depp/Heard thing and Ezra Miller's shenanigans plus the weak story really didn't do the movie any good. Personally I would like a part 4 and 5 but I think the franchise died an early death.
