For the longest time, at the studio when a employee messed up. They were temporarily sent to the basement on some cheap brick PC to work on a ugly Shrek animation. On a pretty much free and bootleg software. It was even called getting shreked. It was a punishment that eventually turned into something much bigger than they had thought. That ended up earning much more than the movie they we're taking seriously. At the time.

Eddy Murphy as donkey is one of my all time favorite characters. You really need to watch 48 hrs, Beverly Hills Cop, The Golden Child, and Coming to America. Once you've seen Shreck it's impossible not to see Donkey in those movies. Eddy Murphy was just being himself. He was one of the biggest comedians of the 80's and 90's. His Saturday Night Live skits are epic.

It's really entertaining to see so many twists on the classic fairy tale story - Shrek's not your typical hero of the story, Fiona acts like anythin but a regular princess, Donkey makes for a hilarious sidekick and Farquaad is...well, Farquaad is compensating hard 😂 Your commentary was hilarious, especially Magy having so much fun with the short jokes about Farquaad! It's like the pot is calling the kettle black 😂 The happy ending consisting of accepting who you are (even if in Fiona's case it means being an ogre) stays as relevant in modern times as it was more than 20 years ago. It also stays true to the theme of the movie - clearly not our usual "be good and good things will happen" kinda message. Thank you for the hilarious reaction, it was a treat to watch it ❤

I remember going to see this movie in the theatre for the first time with my cousin. A lot of laughs, a lot of feel-good mome … always a good classic to rewatch every once in a while. I really enjoy watching animated movies with you girls on this channel. For more animated movies to watch, I still recommend the Japanese anime My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke, and Castle in the Sky. You would not be disappointed.

This movie took me the lingestvtime to get around to. Ad a freshman in art school i developed an ogre story with the character having my last name: Schroeck, but i made it phonetic: Shrek. Then when i graduated wanting to do animated features, i applied at Dreamworks who used this movie to recruit artists. It qas i development at the time. They rejected me. So it took mecthe longest time to actually watch this. It was good. It was a nice “ take this disney!”
