60 isn't old. I'm 66 and I'd totally do that hike. I've been to Maine three times in my life, once 54 years ago when they were still floating logs on the river. We came across the bay to the beginning of US-1 I think and then all the way down to Boston. 6 of us in a 1965 Pontiac Bonneville. The next time when I was on vacation with my parents at about 16 or 17 years old. The last time was about 11 years ago on my bike. We just barely got into Maine because we got delayed by some trouble with my traveling companion's bike and a girl friend who had not toughened up her behind for that long of a trip. I will go back some day soon to see the sights and go fishing. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

I'm a little younger then your father but us older folks still have it. I lived in Orlando an Cocoa beach for 38 yrs and moved back to Southern Illinois so I could start climbing again. Illinois is my home state an people don't realize how many places around here where you can go to climb and go caving at. It's just beautiful around here. My daughter is around your guys age an her an her husband go to Maine all the time then they fly over on a sea plane where their friends live on the Yukon river. What exciting lifes both of you have. I lived in Brunswick Maine for a couple of years. Some of the best times I ever had. Motorcycles all through Maine and New Hampshire, climbed Mt Washington. Great life.

Congrats to you guys. We have a cat from Maine called a Maine coon he is the largest domestic cat you can get in New Zealand and weighs in at 10 kg .He is the coolest cat I have ever known. Maine looks like a great adventure place in the summer.

Awesome on your engagement ! Wickford, RI is a very special place. My kids are the 5th generation to sail from the house my dad grew up in ( Cape style w/ white picket fence on the harbor sea wall ). We keep our sail boat at one of the Navy made hurricane holes at Quonset. We live in Maine now and love it ! It’s been snowing lightly all day.

Stationed in Northern Maine (Caribou) in the early to middle 80s and then moved back (Old Orchard Beach) in the early 90s. Absolutely loved Maine. It was the simplest life has to offer.

I’m 2 years older than Pops, and I did this trek years ago. The slippery rock made me say, “Once is enough,” and I was a gymnast and do not fear heights. So Pops did great here. Inspirational!

OMG! There is no way at 56 I could do that hike, well maybe I could if I knew I didn't have to go back down the same way, and it wasn't wet and it wasn't slippery and getting dark! I have managed to climb a lot of things to turn around and realize I get vertigo with heights. Congratulations on the Engagement!!!! So excited for everything you guys are doing!

When you come to Oregon there is a place near Shady Cove that is called "The Avenue of giant boulders" thats what that hike reminds me of. Boulders are to the left and the view of the different waterfalls is to the right

If you are still in Maine I will give you a little secret destination: Grindstone Neck. Home to the elite of the Philadelphia area. They have a delightful, unadvertised golf course that they let the public play. The homes are actually mansions! The Winter Harbor Yacht Club is on Grindstone neck as well. You can boat from Winter Harbor to other destinations in the area.

Maine is awesome, got to visit several years ago, want to go back. Interesting fact Lobster at one time was as common as the rocks on the beaches, it was fed to the prisoners in jail so many times in a week that the state made a law restricting how many times it could be served in a week. There is a waiting list for licenses to trap lobster and a limited number are available. One never see billboards on the highways in Maine, they cannot be erected and there are limitations to sizes of signs. Thanks for the great videos!
