I know I'm late, but they are shooting glasses. It is so, you don't have to close your not aiming eye (that would build up tension, because it involves a lot of muscles). And the side pieces are for, when it is shot outside, for the sun not to shine to their eyes.

I noticed, most of this video, of this sport, although entertaining to watch, I see their arms/elbows are bent backwards... is that done to make them a better shot? or it the backwards bent elbows a direct result from shooting so much, or both?.. looks like it hurts... LOL

The purpose of locking the elbow is to help maintain consistency so the distance between the rear sight and the eye stays the same. Bullseye shooting is all about finding a stance and a routine that works for you and keep repeating it exactly the same way each shot...

It is covering one eye so u dont have to close it urself, and they have the glass so they can see the pistol sharper (the little thing in front of the pistol, which you use to aim with)

sure they can close their eyes by themselves, but in precision olympic style shooting closing it by yourself adds tension to the shooter thereby increasing fatigue, that is why they have to cover it instead. I used to train with the team before in the Phils.

It's all about the fatigue factor. The glasses do as Alex mentioned, but they also block out peripherals. That way you focus solely on your target and block out all else.
