Thank you for the information! I have joined an internship a few months ago as a financial analyst and felt the same way as you had in most parts! Especially, using different software for analysis and reporting seems very important other than Excel in many industries

Been watching your videos for a while and I’m glad things are working in your favor! I’m an equity analyst intern at a hedge fund right now in CA, we have very similar expectations versus realities since i made the same assumptions as well. Hope all is well!

Have an internship as a finance intern for the corporate acquisitions department of a company starting next month, this is my first work experience, and was wondering how I should prepare for it. If you have any ideas it would be great to hear thanks!

Congrats on your upcoming role! I posted a video about a year on this topic titled “How to Prepare for your Internship” plus I just posted a new vid to help you lock down a return offer. Best of luck!

Is working as an i intern on a bank hard? Do you need to be super smart , are platform hard to learn?
@Galbra1th Жыл бұрын
No, it’s probably harder to get an internship than it is to succeed in one, since the companies really just want you to be able to learn and be a good team player!

@@Galbra1th ohh okay thanks, bcs Im scared if I get accepted I might not understand the platforms they use or it will be too complicated for me idk

Thanks for the video! You mentioned having to use software other than Microsoft excel. Can you talk about what those were?
@Galbra1th Жыл бұрын
Mention it a bit more in other videos, but I did a lot on PowerBI mostly. That and other niche softwares that were primarily for my function in treasury.

Hi! This is probably a bad question but do you think it is realistic to balance my startup with a summer internship in investment banking?
@Galbra1th2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I think anything is possible, but it certainly will take a lot of discipline. Might require some early mornings / late nights, but I would say it is doable.

Do you think interning at a prop firm will provide any exit opportunities when I try to get an actual job?
@Galbra1th2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know much about prop trading. I think any competitive internship will be a good sign when applying for full time roles. If you learn technical skills and have exposure to the markets it sounds great. I would assume the experience (high stress, risk analysis, hedging strats) would be very valuable for landing S&T roles and other trading roles.
@alanv31852 жыл бұрын
@@Galbra1th Yeah prop firms or S&T would be my ideal career path. Equity analyst jobs just aren't for me lol. THank you for the reply.

im first year at uni do u think is already possible to get a summer internschip (in finance) or would this be to early?
@Galbra1th Жыл бұрын
I think it’ll be hard to get an “formal” internship with a large bank / company that has an internship program. But, I do think it’s possible to reach out to smaller / local firms to get an internship with a company that maybe just needs some extra help. I made a video about how to cold email for an internship. Check it out!

@@Galbra1th yea, i was thinking the same. thanks for your answer tho and I will watch the vid and try small corperation.

Hey, what skills would u recommend people to learn prior to applying for finance internships to have a better experience. Thanks 😊
@Galbra1th2 жыл бұрын
I think a solid understanding of excel will help you more than any other technical skills. Then I’d say just knowing the current market and what is going on in the world of finance will help you immensely in interviews.
@Galbra1th2 жыл бұрын
But also, I need to mention that in technical interviews your accounting knowledge will really be tested. So make sure you research some of the basic questions.
