Accounting noob here with a quick question. What if you are investing your own capital into your business and aren't borrowing cash or have anyone investing in your company? In that case would your assets be greater than your liabilities/shareholders' equity?

Wouldn't Accounts Payable and Note Payable be the same thing? A loan is something you owe to someone else, in this case a bank.

No. They are different in the sense that note payables were incurred by "promise" through notes account payables are just billed.
