Matt, I felt like I was having a stoke when our teacher was talking about T-accounts and relations of debits and credits between different accounts. Your videos gave me a better understanding of core concepts than 10 hours of classes so far. Subscribed, and will recommend your channel to other classmates who are having difficulties. Thank you!

You have no idea how this video has changed how I am grasping the concept ,especially how dividends would make OE go down. This changes everything and this is the beginning of my start to all possibilities in life - my life! Thank you so much, you have no idea. I have tears in my eyes - along with hope in my heart.

In order to acquire assets,we either borrow (liabilities) or get it from capital! Finally understand it!!!! Ahhhhh hahaha-so happy! Ask me anything about hair coloring, holistic medicine, etc but this stuff, don’t! But I will keep watching your videos and a few more tries and I will be telling you!!! Yay, cupcakes and unicorns!!!

First of all, I'd like to say thank you so much Matt for your contribution to our learning. The explanation with the Dividends and Expenses still kinda confused me until I looked it over a couple of times and thought about an explanation to help. Debit = putting (money) in or gaining them, Credit = Borrowing money. The best way I could think of describing it "debit or putting in more money towards dividends decrease the value of the business, Credit - taking them out is better for the business. Same with expenses, putting/adding more money towards operating expenses is bad, taking out or lessening them is better. Essentially, I'm just paraphrasing what you've already said even further, but thank you again Matt, and hope this helps anyone who was racking their heads over that haha :D

i was a bit confused about the negative account under owner's equity. Say for example, a company decide to pay $10,000 in dividend, then we would debit $10,000 (in the dividend t-accout) and credit $10,000 under cash t-account? Am I correct?

I understand the asset side of the equation but you lost me on the other side when you spoke about dividends and expenses. So for contributed capital credits increase because the owners claim in the business increases, and for revenues its the same thing because we are crediting money back to the business from our original investment. Then dividends and expenses are debiting( reducing) stockholders equity. I think I understand; just want confirmation.

I think you made some mistakes now & again, were you should have said, "after every transaction your equation should be in-balanced" and you probably meant "after every transaction your equation should be balanced". Just re-listen to your video, you will pick it up.
