Step 3 (payoff debts) is the hardest. You have to make sacrifices and cutback. It helps me maintain discipline, I read every CC and student loan statement each and read the interest being charged. Seeing how much of my income goes to bankers helps me not buy unnecessary junk and use that income towards principle.

only thing i dont understand is if u say have no debt but still have high monthly bills that are not optional. how do you save enough for say a new car , or a house. id never have 300,000 outright to buy a house and land . i would have to barrow which is debt
@astrothsknot4 жыл бұрын
go back through the bills and make sure you're getting the best deals. first time i went through a comparison site i saved £2500, just by moving car ins etc. but dave's not against mortgages, just make sure it's your only debt. i had to borrow when my car died unexpectedly. i already had £1500 emergency fund, got £500 off the car, got £4000 off my mum, bought a 5 year old astra a year past may. I should have paid it off this coming january. I worked extra shifts and will have it paid this month. I'll be on beans and toast for next few months, but I will have no car payment for the next five years and the money can go back into savings. I also coupon and use cashback sites and bank accounts. If i ever do spend on my credit card (legal protection is good in the UK when you buy stuff) it's paid off in full as soon as I get the item. I'm not rich, I'm just a single mum who works as a healthcare worker. It's doable for everyone.

I’m definitely liberal but I love when he said the thing about handgun carry permit. “I was in California the other day . . . It’s good to be back in America.” 😂 I do think it’s stupid that if someone breaks in your house there you can’t actually defend your house or yourself. I like the very blue states but even as a left learning black person I just can’t see myself living anywhere other than Texas and the other southern states. There’s a certain grit I like about it that I just don’t feel in places like Manhattan or San Francisco as hard as it is to live in those places.

@@briansmith8390 I don't think it's a bad idea to let your kid live at home longer than 18 years. As long as they are saving money, working & pitching in at the house, it's the greatest gift you could give them. If they are lazy, then kick them out so they learn. But maybe if you just teach your kid the right way from the beginning they won't be a bum.

He is right in almost everything and I started to climb my way up the babysteps. But there is one thing that bothers me. In order to make 5,000,000$ by saving 500$ a month over a 35 year period the interest rate would have to be around 14 to 15 percent. I think thats not realistic. If you saved 2300$ over 35 years and your interest rate would be 8% would also end up with 5,000,000$. I think that's the proper approach. Save more! Thanks Dave
