Rachael, putting away $500 - $600 a month after taking a 50% pay cut is simply amazing. You should be very proud of yourself. You are doing an amazing job with your finances.

If no one has told you, as a single woman doing it all by yourself, we are proud of your accomplishments and you’re doing a great job! I’m 43 years old and just bought my first home last July. It’s been slot with the bills and unexpected expenses but I’m determined to get out of my consumer debt (credit cards and personal loans) in 2 years. Thank you for being an inspiration to many women😊

You have achieved so much in those 5 years. Yes it was hard, exhausting, draining, depressing at times but your determination, drive and end goal got you through. I’m so delighted that you finally let yourself be yourself and enjoyed life last year. You embraced the good times which was long overdue and it’s giving you great focus for this year. In your 2024 goals you forgot ‘continue with transfer Tuesday’ 😉 Any money move, even if only a dollar, is a move in the right direction. You deserve the $80K so ask for it. You paid enough for those qualifications!!! Wishing you all your dreams come true. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇‍♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐈🐈‍⬛

Real estate is SUCH a powerful tool for financial independence. Even if you don’t landlord, like me. The biggest thing that gave my journey a shove forward was choosing to sell the house I was living in during the boom, and moving to my modest fixer upper I bought. 👍🏻 An intentional choice that has paid off in spades. It’s taken years off my fire journey. I really hope you can find a good multi family home for sale this year!🙌🏻

I love this!! I am SO happy how that worked out for you! I hope so too! Even if the market doesn't cooperate and it never makes sense for me to get a multi, I have hope I can make things happen with some creativity. Sometimes you just have to pivot based on circumstances. Thank you for sharing!

I started watching you when you first started YT. The financial difference (and the educational journey you’ve been on is) is staggeringly! But, you did all the work to reap what you now have. Like you said: 2018 to 2023 was 5 solid years of building positive financial habits and keeping your expenses - in general - to a minimum. Wow, that’s perseverance!🤩 Stella job!

Hi Rachel, I've been a long term wallflower follower since your Feb. 2021 budget recap. I usually listen to your videos on my way to work, so I don't get time to comment... I just want to thank you for giving hope at what it is like to finally reach that point where survival mode is no longer an option, I get emotional thinking about that moment and seeing others only motivates me 🤍 One day I won't be working myself to death and that day is going to be so blissful 🤍 I hope you are proud of how far you've come and for giving others courage to do the same.

Oh my gosh, this one got me.😭 I feel that SO much!! I was THERE! I held the feeling of what I thought this would feel like so closely that I did get emotional about it pretty dang often. But the beautiful thing is that the strongest emotions elicit the biggest changes!! You are going to LOVE it. Hold on to that as tightly (but as gently!😂) as you can. Or I could say hold it tightly while treating yourself gently! You know what I mean.😅 But for real, it's every bit as wonderful as you hope it will feel and I cannot WAIT to hear about it when this day comes for you (because it WILL).💝

I have similar degrees to you and miss working in the field so much but I can’t find a local job that pays decent. It’s a struggle. I don’t feel like I’m contributing to the future of the planet at all. Plus due to my partners job, we live in a place that I don’t know anyone and everyone I do meet seems to be too busy with children which we don’t have. Adult life is rough.

I'm sorry to hear that! It is tough.. the environmental sciences are not a lucrative field.😕 And being the childless one after a certain age can be real hard in the friend department. I'm in the same boat up here!
